Should close!
Never played such a bad course! Only reason pace of play was good was because nobody was in front of us.
Very Challenging and well kept Greens, but Tee Boxes were not the best
1st time playing here.
As we started our round, we discovered that our (different) golf apps were all off kilter!.
We ended up having to play "old school" with just the range finder; which made it for a bit more challenging and fun round, overall.
Come to find out that Boulder Oaks added a new 16th hole (par3) and that they flip-flopped the front and back 9s. (All the Golf Apps will need to get updated with this new layout)
That said, this course has 19 holes!
With the addition to the par3 hole, the overall par is now 73 (used to be 70 w/ 18 holes).
Another weird/unique thing about this course (if 19 holes wasn't enough) is that the "front 9" is really the "front 11". That is, you play 11 holes before getting back to the clubhouse for the turn. Then you play the remaining 8 holes (12-19).
Despite 19 holes, pace of play was decent, and we finished in 4.5 hrs. (730am start time)
The greens are REALLY REALLY challenging. It might just be me, but I had a hard time reading the greens (very deceiving).
The greens were also very very FAST and well kept (very well!). Some of the greens were also dual-tiered, like some of the fancier, more expensive courses. This adds to the challenge of the greens on both your approach shot and your putts.
I would've given them 4 stars, but their Tee Boxes were not the best. Very muddy for most of them (maybe it's just that time of year?)
BONUS: Keep your receipt and turn it in at the turn for a $1.00 beer (limited selection)
Horrible!
Course was awful! Could not tell where “pro” shop was. Starter was the cart guy and I had to go find him and he pointed me to clipboard to check out my own cart. Tee boxes were either super muddy or covered in saw dust from tree cutting. Greens were rough. Course not marked clearly. Sad to see what it has turned into from Meadow Lake days!
Too Expensive For a Course in this Bad of a Condition
Could have played a way nicer course for cheaper. This course should not cost more than $30 with a cart.
First and Last
Charging $75 per player to play this disaster was a total ripoff!
Worst course I have ever played!
Tee boxes were weeds and sand, fareways were weeds and sand...get the picture?
And the layout was laughable to be kind.
Play ANYWHERE else
Challenging and Fun Course
The course is in very good shape. The fairways are about as lush as they can be in a desert mountain setting. Some tee areas need attention. Watch those green side bunkers...1/4 inch of sand on top of hard pan. You can very easily end up over the green.
Better have your legs in great condition if you plan to walk.
Interesting 19 hole corse
12 on the front and 7 on the back.
No water anywhere
Finding the tee box on some holes... don't get lost
Barrels on the range for markers with no direction to pull past the stairs leading to the range.
Fun for a interesting day
Nice course to play for everyone
Beginner or advanced golfer definitely an enjoyable experience. Prices are nice and course is well maintained.
Terrible Greens
It’s surprising that this course charges a green fee because their greens are always in terrible shape. I’ve played here about 50 times and we don’t even putt sometimes because the putting surface is overgrown and sandy. Golf carts die frequently and are poorly maintained.
muni
best goat track ever..greens good but rest was Saskatchewan..needs 40 million
Fun course
Not very long, but some narrower fairways do require good drives. Greens in good shape but tough to read at times. For sure, some of the areas aren't well manicured, but they don't come into play. We would play again
Paying $30 for a golf kart is rediculous. Golf kart cost as much as the round.
