Blind shots everywhere
Funky layout. Sharp doglegs, many blind driving holes. Played this course 40 years ago. Much much better then. Cut up course to build homes. Nice g.m. Just not fun course.

Mixed Bag, Good Value
I found this layout to be a mixed bag - some really nice holes in good condition, others of strange design and/or in poor shape. The greens were generally good, held well and putted nice with some subtle breaks. Some elevation changes make for good views but also hard to judge distances and some awkward lies. A couple of holes have blind tee shots, rocks to clear, abrupt doglegs, or brush to navigate. The pace was great in early afternoon and the price was right - overall worth it to play.

Thanks for coming to Boulder Oaks and thanks for providing a review of your experience. We are happy to hear that for the most part you were satisfied with your visit here. Currently we are in the end stages of our Spring Maintenance Program such as aerification, over seeding, turf replacements etc and general course improvements, so conditions are not up to our normal standards but should be back in shape this week. As for some of the other areas you mentioned, I believe you are referring to some of the damages that have resulted from the storms we have encountered over the last several weeks. We are working on those issues to repair them as quickly as possible, thankfully the vast majority of those do not effect areas of play but are off to the side. Very scenic course in the mountains. Staff was excellent in all aspects. the front 9 greens where under repair but still playable. If I get the chance, I'll play the course again.

Strange coarse
First off all it was not on gps, it had other coarse name!! Second it seemed like every hole had construction of some sort on it. The 9th hole doesn't go back up to the club house so I could not get a drink and they had no truck there. Plus there's no driving range to hit a few balls before start.
This course has been re-done and the layout is exceptional. Very fun course even tho it's shorter than most, they still have some par 5s to even up the score. Staff was very friendly and the bartender pours stiff drinks. With the money they are saving on the rough and just around the holes, they put into the fairways.

Pretty easy course
Usually play white tees but this looked short so played blue. 409 and 385 par 5's from the blue should be par 4's. Some par 4's are under 300. Layout is decent and having been redone recently most cart paths are gravel since old paths don't follow the new layout. Greens and fairways were in pretty good condition although grasses on some greens were different than others. Overall decent and easy enough to shot your best score of the year.

The course has changed significantly since the renovation we tried to make the course user friemdly for golfers of all ability levels so you have a variety of tee boxes to choose from. If the couse plays too short for your game I may I recommend the black tees. although there are some shorter holes you will find that you hit every club in the bag from that distance Also we are lengthening 4 holes with #5 playing at almost 600 yards. think before choosing a driver
when this course was shortened, it now requires you to think about your second shot before you hit the 1st. The greens are very fast and the fairways are in good condition, off the fairway is a work in progress to make this an eco friendly, low water use golf course.

Great Course!
This course was excellent, if you forget about the patch work on the 2nd and 3rd greens. I can't remember which green it was, but one on the back 9 was covered in leaves. Literally had to clear a path for a putt. Outside of those issues, it was great. Strategic layout, friendly staff, above average pace of play. 3 hour and 45 min. round.

There having problems with several greens, they should be automatic two putts.

lacks maintenance
Played Saturday mid day after a Friday rain. They did not have any maintenance out to cut greens and clean greens of debris. Some greens are spotty and rough. Needs some TLC. Pro shop staff was great.

Sorry the course did not meet your expectations, unfortunately we had extremely high winds and a lot of rain the in the hours before you played and were unable to perform our regular daily maintenance procedures. We probably should have closed the course Friday, but wanted to accommodate our customers who still wished to play despite the weather. As for the two greens you mentioned we had some vandalism recently on those two greens and our crew is in the process of repairing the damage and should have things back to normal by the end of the week. Please contact us if you would like to give us another try. We would be happy to provide you a complimentary round. We appreciated your business and are working hard everyday to earn your patronage.

Pros and cons
Very good layout. Nice vistas. Plenty of vertical. Greens very true but some recovering from chemical blotching. Some fairway bunkers need sand and removal of dg gravel. Also, needs beverage cart or additional waterhole
