Chula Vista Golf Course

Been to the course a few times and this was my last time. After being closed for a while and a lot of rain early this year, you would think the course would be in great condition. Hitting from the fairway is like hitting from a very used driving range grass. Greens are in terrible shape. I probably would not complain if the price was decent but $40? Pace of play it's so slow, there was two groups of 4 waiting on a Par 5 when we got to the hole. This course has so much potential, new management in real need!!!

Construction on going play sequence reverse with the 10th and 1st holes were shortened. Pair ways are in bad shape.

The front nine is not as difficult as the back nine. The back nine has a creek that cuts across two or three of the holes. until you learn what clubs keep you out of the creek it can mess you up. Front nine has the same water hazards as back nine but the creek is close to the tee. Larger water hazards are mostly to the right. Tees and greens are in good condition but fairways need to be played with generous winter rules. For the price a good course to play.

so sad, Billy Casper should take his name off this course. From Tee boxes to greens, dirt patches in fairways and on tee boxes, cart paths all dirt, greens were in good condition, very sad, good things, they a guy drive around in golf cart offering players water, but they also were not letting on to some fairways with carts and others only 90 degree, the fairways were rock hard with horrible grass patches with dirt

I haven’t been here in over a year and I honestly can’t believe how much they have improved the conditions someone had been busy all the greens are in fantasy shape

Price is great but you get what you pay for. Greens were in good condition and really fast. Tee boxes were good. Fairways were terrible. It was like hitting off a rock. Too many dirt spots in fairway. Great layout but needs to be in better condition.

I have no clue what happened today but a hour behind on our tee time. 3 hour front nine and couldn’t finish. No marshals moving things along. Greens were rolling nice but fairways in need of repair.

Played on Jan 11, 2020. Pace was a little bit slow as the course allowed 5 people in a group to play before us.

Though greens and bunkers are in good condition,

the overall course condition, particularly fairways, is rather ragged with many bare spots. In this rainy season, hoping all the fairways can be repaired and well maintained. This course is very popular in Chula Vista. If more work is done for maintenance, the course will really deserve playing by more residents.

Great links weather in January. Tricky and difficult finding birdies but I found a couple and it was a super time. Tees and fairways are making a comeback but greens were fairly true around the pins. Solid day, thanks CVG.

Played in 4 1/2 hours. Greens in great condition. Fix grass around bunkers on 16. & 17

Course is very green right now and in good solid shape. Best value anywhere in San Diego County. Pace of play here all depends on if the group in front of you can play golf or not so it's a crapshoot but the staff are super friendly and the price is right so get out there and play. Cheers!
