Lakes/Oaks at Blacklake Golf Course
About
Situated along California's Central Coast atop the Nipomo Mesa, Blacklake Golf Resort offers three different nines, each named after the different attributes of the beautiful landscape. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. Players of all skill levels will be able to find a golf course that suits them. The Lakes/Oaks Course begins with the most player friendly of the three nines. Though as the name implies, water does come into play but the fairways are wide and forgiving. The opening par-3 hole gives you a confident start but the length keeps it from being a pushover. The Oaks nine features narrower fairways that wind through groves of coastal oak trees. It is a more target-style layout where you may find yourself in the woods if you're not paying attention.

Needs considerable work. Green fees are way too high for the course condition.
Needs gopher control
Not bad over early however, multiple holes with so many gopher holes that just driving the cart through was difficult. Definitely affected play.
Fun Course
Played great for 8 holes and then the wheels fell off the bus. Fun round!!
Fun golf outing
Black Lake is an opportunity for an enjoyable game of golf. The course includes 3 circuits of 9 holes, so there is potential for a variety of play experiences. The fairways are more like short cut roughs and there were lots of what appeared to be gopher holes. Still it is a beautiful course, and we enjoyed our round.
Local course
Course in relatively good condition traps not in as good of condition. Greens were well maintained.
Don’t waste your time or money
Don’t waste your time or money!!
The Owners have let this place go to the gophers along with Avila
This courses was in terrible shape
The course had literally hundreds of gopher holes on every fairway you needed a kidney belt to drive your golf cart down the fairways the green tea boxes were good
Greens and tea boxes were good. Fairways were so rough. You needed a kidney belt to ride a golf cart hundreds of gopher holes on all the Fairways
Blacklake Needs Attention
First time I’ve been back to this course in a couple years. Found brown grass that needs watering and greens that need drastic improvement. I try to stay loyal to courses near me, but the price is too much for the quality of the course maintenance.
Dead fairways
I’ve played Black Lake over the last 30 years and this is the worst I’ve ever seen it! The fairways were brown with many dead spots and the pace of play was horrendous! There was a five some in front of several twosomes! They let Avila Bay go to pot And now Blake has followed suit!
Gofers and Lack Of Water
The course was the worst I have ever seen it. We played the Canyons and the Lakes. The gophers have taken over and the fairways were extremely dry, Black Lake needs to lower its rates if its going to be a sub-par course.
The condition of the course is in really sad shape. Some of the greens are getting diseased and some of the tee boxes don’t have any grass.
Poor golfing conditions
This is the worst that I’ve ever seen this course! It looks like the fairways have not been watered in weeks! The greens were very slow, but that’s understandable if they’re not watering them regularly!
