Apache Creek Golf Club
About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Apache creek
Pace of play was terrible. Don't play here unless you want a 5 hour round. No water on the course and no ranger to speed things up. Staff didn't seem to care.
Golf now problem
Had a confirmed golf now tee time and showed up and course had no record of it.
Apache Creek
Pace of play is a joke. Plan on spending at least 5 hours here. No ranger to keep the groups moving and no water on the course. Staff just didn’t care.
Best Bargain
I have played this course many times summer and winter. Course was getting ready to close for over seeding, but fairways were decent and greens were in good shape. Play was a little slow because of the crowd, but our foursome finished in 4 hrs. This is one of the least expensive courses now, and I believe it’s worth it.
Rude employees
Let me start this by saying that the gentleman working in the Pro Shop is as nice a guy you can meet. But that is where the friendliness stops I stopped in the grill before the round because there wasn’t a cooler on the cart for water. She told me I had to buy a minimum of three beverages that weren’t water in order to have a cooler! I then asked her if she just had a plastic shopping bag that I could throw some ice in for my waters. She said that would be two dollars, are you kidding me so I told her to keep her ice and I would drink warm water. We get to the starter shack and there is no one there. There is also no one on number one. We put around for 10 minutes and no one still shows up so we tee off. Due to the fact of there being no starter, there ended up being five twosomes playing in a row behind an old men’s league. Absolutely terrible customer service. When we finish playing there was a kid taking carts into the cart barn , He never said hello or asked if we wanted our clubs cleaned
Love the course. It is in great shape going into overseeding.
Course improving
The course has been improving for the past couple of years and is now in much better condition. Staying on the fairways is still extremely important and watch the croup behind you closely as they tend to want to push.
Great time, great pace of play
Went out on Sunday and had a great time. Booked early so i can get home to watch the football games.
Booked at 6:15 and ended at 9:30. Course was in good condition. Fast greens, green fairways. First time playing so the layout was a little confusing but i did enjoy my time. Might be there again this upcoming weekend.
Course in good shape but bring a Helmet
Course was in very good condition considering our crazy hot summer and minimal rain. Greens were fast and smooth, the green surrounds were lush and the fairways decent enough.
However, there are 2 major problems with the course. Because its inexpensive and pretty forgiving, on the weekend it is PACKED with 25 year old hackers, swinging out of their shoes sending tee-shots 100-150 yards offline. And with all of the parallel fairways (especially 11-17), balls are flying at you from all directions. I got nailed sitting in my cart on 15 and we almost got hit 3 more times. And these weren't slightly mis-hit shots. They were WAY offline. So if you're a beer-chugging, music playing hack, it's perfect for you, but if you're older and value your life, look elsewhere or play during the week.
Great Golf!
Course was in great shape for being hot time of summer! Fairways and greens were in excellent shape, staff was super friendly and reasonable rate. Hot day, they gave us water before we started and at the turn. Good available to order and pick up at the turn as well. Will definitely play there again.
It’s been in good shape all summer
Except for the bunkers. They have expanded and leveled many of the white tees.
