About
Although there are many other desert golf courses in the Phoenix area, Apache Creek Golf Club offers one challenging championship course that requires the use of every club. The golf course features wide open fairways and undulating greens that are sloped back to front, some are also double-tiered. There are also numerous sand and grass bunkers protecting the fairways and greens. Extensive mounding on the course cause uneven lies and water hazards come into play on a few holes. The most difficult of the several demanding holes on this golf course, is the lengthy par-5, 10th hole. Apache Creek Golf Club also boasts two practice greens, a pitching and chipping green with a sand trap, and a large driving range with various targets.

Golfer Reviews
Dust Bowl
Not that I am an expert golfer, however, there are two choices at Apache Creek...Drive on the Fairway (which is basically hard pan, not what we expect for fairway) OR Ground covered with dirt. There is little rough which one would expect. People were great, my clothes needed a serious wash cycle to get the dirt out.
Yuck!
We had low expectations to begin with. A links desert layout. Ponds are pretty much empty. Greens were in TERRIBLE shape. Any grass rough was brown or dead or dormant. Most "rough" is desert. They're trying I suppose, but fix the greens! I wouldn't pay rack rate to play there. The Hot Deal made it palatable.
Very nice track
Very cordial greeting in pro shop. Clear instructions about course rules. The starter (Pat) was helpful and very pleasant.
Course had very good fairways. The greens were excellent with a couple having some grass problems, but not horrible. Would definitely play there again.
Greens
So coming out of overseeding you would think the greens would be a little more plush but they had some brown spots and where the grass didn't grow. But probably every course in town has a little bit of something going on. Our cart got hit by a couple balls and no one says four out there. They just let her rip let the courses overall really nice course. I enjoy it. I'm just excited about seeing the greens when they're back to normal
great course
great condition and great place of play for the time of day.
Should of Listened
I read every bad review and went anyways. Starter was not cool, pace of play slow, greens terrible. I will never get my money back so don't waste yours!!!
Getting dry
Easy to find. Getting spendy. Can’t take carts to car. Had fire in pro shop. Carts ok. Water for towels. Water for us at start. Somewhat slower today played in 4:10. Tees still not very level. Fairways dry and painted. Bunkers playable greens mostly pretty good and putt well. But some with lots of spots. Not always easy to go left out if lot. Chipping fairly good for pitch and run
Not great
The fairways are almost dead the rough is all dead. No cart girl. I really cannot believe they are charters price. This course is like a par 72 desert sands
Fun layout Good greens
New owners, looks like they are watering more. With improvements it can be a good course because I like the layout and the greens are good.
Pretty dry
Easy to find price tolerable yet. Parking good can’t take carts to car. Water for towels. Water at start carts ok. Sand bottles on carts. No water or bathrooms on course. Tees still need leveling. Fairways quite dry and painted. Roughs are roughs. Most greens putt pretty well are dry but a few are patchy and bumpy. Water ponds way down in water. Played in 3:45 and waited a fair bit even so. True desert course close to home.
Slow play!!!
Golfed there twice in two weeks and the pace of play was extremely slow… waited a long time on every hole. Saw a marshall a couple times but they didn’t do anything. Slow play ruins the experience. Either space groups apart more, have Marshall push them faster… like the course but can’t stand to wait like that. It ruins the game.
