About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Summer Golf
we teed off early about 6 40 am, played in 3.5 hrs. Summer conditions were good seeing how little rain we have had. Greens and fairways had been aerated but very playable. They seem to be putting money back into the course with renovations. Best value and best course in Green Valley

San Ignacio
Played back 9 twice due to maintenance on the front. Greens bumpy effecting putting. Generally good condition otherwise.

One of the best semi-private courses in the tucson area
One of my favorites in the greater Tucson area - 45 mins from central Tucson is always worth it! Even during these last several 100+ degree days, the course, from Tee to green is in great shape.

Beautiful Course
It’d been several years since I played here. It’s a beautiful course and despite the greens la have been recently punched,, the course was in absolutely wonderful shape. Great views made up for the 110 degree weather. Fresh ice cold drinking water at what seemed to be every other hole. The staff was friendly and professional. Tamara fixed us up some great cocktails as we made the turn. I’m looking forward to playing here again.

Marine tanker
One of my favorite courses in the GREATER Tucson area - 40 min drive from central Tucson. Highly recommended. Play is on track, but not rushed. Practice area one of the best in the area. Love the layout. I’m 74 and play the white/Red combo. Challenging, but each hole doable and enjoyable!

Always a good time… but pace…
Always a fun time even in the heat. Course is in good shape considering no rain so far. Greens are doing well and are true.
However pace of play makes heat feel twice as bad. Marshall’s don’t do much and no beverage cart on course, it’s stationary. So pack your patience and plenty of sunblock and water. Close to a 5 hour round.

Unexpectedly Good
I had the earliest tee time of the day, so I was able to play fast and had no concern about pace. I was paired with a couple and asked the starter if I could go out early. The answer was “no” for no apparent reason aside from a power trip. The couple offered for me to go on my own after the first hole and I played the whole 18 in just over 2 hours. Still a bit annoyed with that starter, but whatever.
Course payout and amenities are very impressive. It is kept in decent shape and is reasonably challenging. Lots of great variety in the holes. Conditions are usually ok, but not great.
Expect to be surrounded by oldies on this course. It is in a retirement community and there will be a ton of locals. Decent restaurant also filled with oldies. It can also get pretty windy here too.

Decent Course Overall
It's a friendly staffed course. Their layout was interesting. where the it fit the contour of the topography. When I was there was construction in the area so maybe my review would have been stronger.
