About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Course condition
This time of year is when the course is in its worse shape they are getting ready to reseed the traps could use more sand

Course !
Course layout outstanding! Greens need a little care but should be super in a couple of weeks. Fairways need some wor some work ! Course is very challenging but fair! Will be back !!!!

Gem in Southern AZ
Great golf course. Always making positive changes to the course. People in golf shop are great. People in care of carts and tee times are great. Keep the cost down, so we can play more often.

Bad day
Booked a tee time at 1115, went out as a solo. Was originally supposed to be paired with another solo but he had his wife as a ride along. Pace of play was okay to start by hole 5 jammed up. A foursome was ahead of us, the solo player and his wife who was not supposed to be playing decided to make it a 6 playing group, i asked to play through but they said they were waiting on a twosome ahead of them and refused to let me. Left at hole 8

Overall 5 star!!
Upon arrival, we were greeted by staff who helped load our bags in carts. Tees off on time and pace of play was good. Course is in good shape for Summer conditions (few bare spots in fairways and greens but overall really good AZ Summer conditions). Had a beer in the bar after the round with a good selection of on tap beers. Bar was really crowded at 4pm the Friday we played. Some golfers in bar but seemed like mostly just local residents out for a little Friday afternoon food and beverage.

Great Condition
The fairways and greens were in great condition for this time of year, just before over seeding happens. I played another course in the area a couple weeks ago and it was in horrible condition. San Ignacio has definitely become my favorite local course. Staff was extremely friendly too, as always. Kudos to everyone at San Ignacio. Keep up the great work.

Stormy day and sandy greens made for challenging golf!
We normally love San Ignacio and it is one of our go to courses on our annual visits to family in Green Valley. We timed it wrong on this occasion and played the day after the greens were sanded and it was also a very hot and stormy day. We were threatened by lightning most of the back nine and decided to abandon at 16 because we felt it was too close - however there was no warning or alarms from the course. However, despite the conditions we both scored quite well and and finished pretty satisfied.

Bad Shape but Will Get Better
The course was very disappointing today. We had no indication that the greens had been punched and we paid full price to play. This course is one of the finest in Green Valley and this time of year is difficult to keep any golf course in good shape but today was surprising. The fairways are losing grass (a lot of dirt/mud) and as stated above, the greens were horrible. I do have full confidence that this course will be one of the best again once the fall overseeding is done. However, we won't be playing it again until October.
Good shape
With the recent rains, the course was in excellent conditions. The greens were a little slow since they aerated a couple weeks ago.
