About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Tee time screw uo
I really liked the course. However my tee time was messed up. I had a 2pm tee time but the starter had me at 2:16 which I didn’t find out till I was already after 2pm. Also they put me as a single among a full golf course. I was not happy. I ended up being matched with a twosome and had a nice round but could only get 17 holes in. All great except for tee time fiasco. Greens had lots of ball marks but others wise course was great

Great layout and beautiful setting
We were hoping to get a full 18 in with a 2:16 tee time. Pace was so slow that we barely got 16 in. Loved the layout and conditions! We would love to play it again.

Great views and elevation changes.
This course was really nice with several tee elevations overlooking green fairways and dry dormant grass rough. The rough was fairly easy to hit out of. The greens were mostly flat but some had significant undulations. Water comes into play on X, X, holes. Usually in the areas near the greens.
Sand Bunkers were prevalent everywhere from the mid fairway to protecting the greens. Most of the sand looked playable, I only hit one in the fairway all day so I was fortunate. Many fairway and green grass bunkers There were trees also in the way of a few greens… good deals on happy hour too!

Great staff! Really nice layout with beautiful surroundings. Some narrow landing areas but fair. A few gravelly bunkers. Signature hole is awesome!
Bonus if you see javelinas roaming around! We’ll be back.

Disappointed
Was looking forward to playing this course for the first time but it turned sour right from the start waiting to tee off and I hope the management listens and does something to improve the situation as it didn’t sound good from existing members that I talked to. We waited quite a while at the first tee box from the time the starter said we would be out. We then watched the group in front of us tee off. The men slowly teed off, then proceeded to the ladies tee box and started to give lessons on how to golf to the ladies. One of the ladies hit it 20 feet, and then they moved up and started the lessons again. 15 minutes after they started to tee off, they were 100 feet up the fairway and the par 4 green had already cleared. We reported it to starter and he drove down there and back but did nothing so we drove to second hole to start our game but it was only a little better. We waited at every tee box for the remainder of the 18 and one of our players was an 83 year old lady that could barely walk (up the middle a 100 yards every time - good for her). The whole game we were trapped as other groups played through the extra slow group only to be waiting behind us… the hurry up and wait syndrome. For a course that advertises the “strictly enforced 4 hour round” on their website, they failed miserably. Enjoyed my company but could never get into game with the stop start routine. The group behind us often arrived at our tee box before we finished teeing off. The 5 hr round put me into the gridlocked traffic going home. Too bad as course conditions were pretty good but I won’t be back to go through that ever again… lots of good courses that keep the pace and don’t pack the groups like herding cattle.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. What a beautiful course
Day started off nicely because all of the staff members do an excellent job & are very friendly and helpful
Course is challenging and in very good condition
Very nice layout
Met our wife's after round at Coyote Grill and had an excellent meal and again staff was excellent and always smiling
