About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Scenic and impressive course
Played a round here about 4 years ago and happy to come back. The course has great views and was in great winter shape. Our round took 4.5 hours and the pace seemed a bit slow. Otherwise, everything was first rate.

Fun course
Enjoyed playing this course in January. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Fairways were in great shape. The greens need a little attention - lots of unrepaired ball marks. I would play it again.

Slow play Thursdays
Played in 4:41 - ridiculously slow pace of play. Foursome in front slower than molasses… apparently the four are known at course for this on Thursdays… too bad the marshal wasn’t out on the back 9 to move them along. Played the Friday before at same course and no issues with speed of play.

A good day!
Started cold, but the weather turned perfect. Joined with two others, I think we were second off after a frost delay (not sure where the delayed groups were, as we took off on time). The group ahead of us was a twosome, never saw them again, and rarely saw the group behind us. Finished in four hours. Seems they must have gotten some sand (which is nice). I wonder if anyone that plays here actually repairs ball marks correctly, there were a lot of spots on the greens that I don't recall being there a month or two ago. They still roll reasonably try, and at a nice pace, in my opinion. I think it's a bit overpriced, but that's southern Arizona in the winter, I guess!

Nice course
It’s a nice course, one of my favorites. When we played it, the greens were in just average condition, and several of the par 3 tee boxes were in pretty poor condition. I last played it in mid November when it was in much better condition. I hope this was an exception rather than an preview of things to come.

Great Value
My wife and I play area courses once a week for the six months that we are in Green Valley. We have played several public courses near us and have settled on San Ignacio as our favorite. The course is in very good shape; fairways are full and at a consistent height, greens run true and at a good speed- not so quick as to be unable to leave close on downhill putts. Greens are nicely contoured. Earlier in the winter the bunkers were hard and a bit rocky, but are much improved now. A nice variety of long and short par fours, with several elevated tees allowing great views of the mountain backdrop which enhances the experience. The only negative is directed at the golfers - repair your ball marks on the greens to keep the greens smooth for everyone!
