About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Greens somewhat fast, hold ok. A few bunkers still a bit firm but overall good. Pace excellent, 4 hours.
More inviting and friendly than Canoa Ranch.
Faster pace and better layout than Haven.
Better conditioned than Torres Blancas.
Generous and welcoming staff, great post round bar.
Good range, best overall Green Valley course. Just challenging enough for day players, hit it straight and not humbling. Continue to play here, trying to figure it out….fun day.

Resort quality golf at a great value!
The course is in great shape and the on-course renovations have made improvements to pace of play and especially course esthetics. We found the course to be challenging without being overbearing, and actually fun to play for any handicap player. San Ignacio definitely challenges the resort courses without the heavy greens fee. A must play course for most every golfer.

Worth the 50 minute drive from Tucson. I love the design & layout of this course!

Nice course and layout!
San Ignacio is a well designed golf course. Pace of play was good. Fairways are a bit dried out and so are the greens. Very fast and do hold a shot. Great price and would recommend!!

Great layout, concrete bunkers, slow pace
4h43m round. Among the worst bunkers I've played - think light dusting of sand over concrete. Too much sand to chip out, but not enough for proper bunker play. Awful, AWFUL.
On a positive note, greens in great shape and rolled well. Fairways in good condition as well. Signage could be improved - after finishing 18 our playing partners went ahead and the cart path had no indication of which way to return to clubhouse. Not an issue if you've played before, but unnecessary inconvenience for visitors.

San Ignacio
Very windy day so not a lot of golfers on the course which made pace of play fantastic.
The course is probably the best in Green Valley.

Oh so close
I play virtually ever course in the Tucson area and this one is as nice as any with the exception of the traps. Yes there is sand in them all but not enough to make them playable. The only plus for not having sand is that balls tend to roll out or skip through them. Saved me a couple of bunker shots. The greens were nearly perfect for this time of year and the fairways as green as you could hope for in this dry climate.

great time
even tho I didn't golf very good, I had a good time. some very interesting holes...nice layout. My only negative was that the greens are a little rough

Rock Hard Bunkers
The least you could do it to deep rake the bunkers. Sitting green side in a bunker and finding out the sand is rock hard. Needs to be loosened up. Then skulling your shot out of the bunker because the club skips across the dirt.

Miserable
About as cold, wet and windy as I’ve ever experienced in green valley
No compensation from pro shop although we could only play 6 holes due to weather, because it was booked through GolfNow.
Seems a bit unfair and inconsiderate. Not much incentive to play here again.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
