The Best!
This is the best course in the pdx area. The course is in amazing condition! The greens roll fast but stay true if you choose the right line. I will be back and will be recommending this course to all! Loved it!
Great course a must play
The course was in excellent shape. Lots of challenges. Greens were fast but ran true. Some greens were very small. Plenty of bunkers and hazards. A definite play if you are in the area.
It's getting better
I play this course a few times a year since I start playing golf 8 years ago.I think this course was overrated. But this year I have noticed things are changing. Course condition is better, staffs are friendly. It feels like a top 100 again.
Pure Championship Quality
Any course that regularly hosts tour events (Women's tour) will be a good experience. Design and flow seem to mold flawlessly into this green oasis. The course layout is more challenging than first glance suggests and requires proper ball placement if you want to thrive. The higher slope of the course comes into play when you aim to be aggressive, which makes for a fun experience when temptation turns gentlemen into fools. Pumpkin Ridge is manicured by the best and the only faults boil down to the player.
Super fun course
This is my favorite course in Oregon (that I have access to). Difficult course in fantastic condition.
Gorgeous
The course overall was in great shape, staff was great and we all really enjoyed our time! Course isn’t super long from the blues, but the green speeds will make up for that.
Beautiful Course
Ghost Creek is located in a beautiful setting and is perfectly maintained. It is hard but also very enjoyable.
Rough to long
The first cut and the rough was too tall. Fairways and greens were excellent. TRIM THE FIRST AND SECOND CUT.
Great course
Challenging course for high handicapper but loved the course.
Challenging course not for beginners
Course was in great shape. The only problem I saw was the length of the rough. It was 3-4 inches deep and swallowed your ball. Had I not been playing with others, I would have lost at least a half dozen balls or more. Rough to deep for a public course, which would have slowed pace of play down. The greens were perfect and fast, lots of slope and breaks. Looking forward to playing again.
Great course but isn't what it used to be
This has been my home course for more than 10 years. A little over a year ago it was bought by an outside group and the course has suffered since then. The bunkers don't have enough sand in them and they are constantly punching and sanding the greens. When you play the fairways have been pretty good but the greens are poor to un-puttable. Its so disappointing.
They also used to have a great program called the Ghost pass that I bought every year, they continue to have it but they have raised their prices so much it will most likely hurt their business. My friends and I have joined other course programs and will be playing other courses in the area. If you are going to play this course because you are in the area make sure and check what the green situation is before you book. I have played this course 1-3 times a week for the past 10+ years but won't be doing that any longer. I still recommend the course if/when they have it in shape
well groomed course
I was a Senior Ghost Pass member in 2015/16/17 but that has been replaced by what is now called a Pumpkin Pass which is going to cost me and my fellow former Senior ghost pass members $80 a round (May/Sept Mon thru Thur Morning tee time under the new price structure! So as long as GolfNow has affordable Hot Deals at Pumpkin Ridge that will be the only way I and my regular weekly foursome will play there.
Good Layout Challenging to Play
Have played many times. Very fun, challenging course. Always enjoy playing Ghost Creek
Championship caliber course
An amazing layout in the middle of farm country, this course will be in great shape the middle of summer when it dries up a bit. Green speeds were slow due to recent sanding, but rolled true. I will definitely come back to play this Oregon gem again.
tough, but fair
Ghost Creek is a very nice course. Someday I'll get to play it when it is isn't soggy off the fairways, but that is golf around Portland, OR this time of year.
Avoid pumpkin ridge until it dries out
You should avoid this course until the June-September timeframe when it gets dry. In March, the course was sloppy and soggy and it took 5 hours and 45 minutes to play with no Marshalls to help speed up the slow groups in front of us. The rough was almost knee height and hadn't been cut in weeks. Slightly errant balls were lost if they landed in the rough just a few feet away from the greens or just off the fairways. The balls also plugged in the fairways. The course indicates it wants to charge $150 per round in the Summertime. I would not recommend playing the course in the Summer due to the extremely high cost. The new ownership has taken away the long-time Ghostcard which cost approx $135 but gave you a "free round" and access to discounted green fees of $65. The new ownership now offers the Pumpkin Pass which costs $50 but you don't get a free round and have to pay $90 to walk in the Summertime. This used to be my favorite course in the Portland area to play. Now, there are many other courses, that are in better condition and are much less expensive. The new owners need to sell to a company that actually knows how to price, maintain and embrace the golfing community. Sadly, I recommend that you stay away!
Soggy
I love this course when it is dry. First thing I found out was there were no range balls. Weird. Second thing was the course was very wet, we had to search for plugged balls in fairways and especially in the rough. I was disappointed in the condition of the course. It was a beautiful day and two of our foursome dropped out after 9 holes. The round was slow, it took 5 hours. The staff was really nice, but it didn't make up for the course conditions. I wont be going back until the middle of the summer.
Amazing course, but wait until the summer
This course is really great, beautiful layout and design, great views, amazing staff who is helpful and pleasant, but there is just one small problem. This course stays really wet all winter. Every year it pops up as a special deal, not too expensive to play and I think to myself that it hasn't been raining too much, it will probably play fine. But every time I play in the winter, it's basically standing water, especially holes 1-6, but really on the entire course. Greens hold up great, look great, roll a little slow, but the fairways and rough are just too wet. I would strongly encourage anyone to play this course, but save your money for the late spring or early summer when it dries out.
Real golf
Not a simple course but fun if you are a player. Long 4 pars that you need to keep ball in short grass. Great views and very quite. Need to play at least once.
