Whitmore Lake Golf Links

You get a nice open layout on the front 9 and a Michigan-woods experience on the back 9. I liked the friendliness of the staff and I thought the course was in good condition after some rain and being in a general wetlands area. Fall foliage was pleasant.

I've played Whitmore Lake a couple times now and overall, I think you get what you'd expect. Greens fees this past round were very reasonable considering the uptick in fees over the past few years. The staff is relatively friendly, the starter/marshall was very friendly and so were the ladies at the bar. The guy checking us in was a little less so but oh well.

The course itself is in surprisingly decent condition and the layout is interesting with the two nines being very different. The front nine is shorter and wide open while the back nine is much more target golf-y but still enjoyable. The holes on the front are jammed tight, so even a slightly errant drive and you'll be yelling fore (which you'll hear frequently on a busy day) and you need to keep your head on a swivel from hole 4 through 9. The back nine holes are mostly all standalone with more trees and wetlands coming into play. The 18th sits right next to the driveway in, I'm always crossing my fingers that our car doesn't get pelted on the way in and out.

My main issue with this course has been the pace of play. This past round it took us upwards of 2.5 hours to finish the front and we had to call it without playing the back. The tee times being 8 minutes apart and there being 3 par 3s on the front really stacks things up. You add that to a lot of newer golfers who weren't concerned about pace, which is not unique to here at all, and just made for a really slow Sunday afternoon.

All in all, this is an affordable place with friendly staff and a unique layout which can be fun to play, you just might want to grab an early tee time to avoid the crowds.

Well maintained - and we enjoyed the level of difficulty.

Good course, and even being super busy with a slow foursome in front of us the whole day, moved along really well. Finished the round in 4:30 and that was with stopping for ten mins at the turn and us finishing a hole and the group ahead still on the tee box.

My only suggestion would be to bring bug spray. We teed off at 12:36 and we got eaten alive on the back nine.

Would definitely play again if I am in the area.

The greens and fairways were in good condition. Certain holes could use a ranger to keep up a fair pace of play because some players are looking for balls.

This course has potential but the layout on the front 9 leads to horrible pace of play. #2 is a drivable par 4, followed by a long par 3, followed by a short par 5, followed by another long par 3.

It took 2 hours and 45 minutes to play the front 9.

The back 9 has a lot of good dogleg holes, but a 5+ hour round for 6,000 yards from the tips isn’t ideal.

Nice place to play. We had some severe rainstorms the day before so, some of the bunkers were full of water. Other than that, the place looked great, we had a great time and the staff was fun! I’ll definitely come back.

The course was closed due to weather how do I go about getting a refund or a credit?

I will start with is the course great shape. This year I had a Golf outing, Family Day Outting of 70, ending with a birthday outing small but great. I was able to park my RV in the back for the extra travelers. The staff I rate 100%,

Nice course for money. Pace was pretty good given it was a Saturday. Back 9 a little tighter than front.

Aeration was ongoing as we played and all at full price rates. Avoid for the next month at least.

we were rained out so we didn’t get to play the course. .It would have been rain check should been offered.

Very fun track to play....Course is always in good shape but greens weren't as fast as I would have liked.

The clubhouse bathrooms are a disgrace and have been for years! This could be a beautiful place to hold events - but the bathrooms are a disgrace!
