Haven at Haven Public Golf Club
About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Nice local course
Conditions were a little better than some other local courses. 100F is hard on golf courses!
Pace of play was good.
We play here often. It looks like someone was behind the 8 ball with not being prepared for the summer heat. The greens were ok, but the fairways and tee boxes are burned up. Lots of wet soggy areas due to sprinkler issues. We won't be back until late fall.
Easy course, MOSQUITOS OVERWHELMING
I played this course because it was rated easy for beginners and I had a first time golfer with me. The course is extremely flat and it is very wide open so this is great for beginners.
However, because of the time of year, it was extremely hot. Also, the course is right by a river and across the river are pecan groves that are flooded for irrigation. The mosquitos were the worst I have ever encountered in my life. I needed to reapply spray every 20-30 minutes and they still swarmed in the shade. So the only way to cut down on that was to be in the sun which is not ideal at all. Don't try to attempt this course without a good quality mosquito spray. They did have it prominently displayed in the pro shop so that was helpful.
I'll try this course again but not during this time of year.
Burnt fairways and concrete bunkers
Between the heat and the irrigation leaks, the fairways are either burned out or swamps. Pace of play is terrible as they make no attempt to marshal and speed up play.
Good course but not for the summer
Wide open course but don’t go in the summer. Mosquitoes everywhere! They were swarming our cart and they were biting. Take a lot of mesquite repellent.
