About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Meh
Course was ok. The pro shop was old and a little dirty, but ok. The golf carts are a bit beat up, but ok. The staff was very friendly, Bev cart was employee was amazingly friendly.
Day at the Haven
Tee to green was excellent, greens good shape, amenities only fair, very noisy, the course is fair not difficult, straight away hole not really dog leggy or a target golf course. Practice area needs work but not unusual as the teeing area was worn thin with a good putting green

Poor management decisions
Four players booked for the same time. Two players wanted to play by themselves. Nothing but foursomes. Guy working behind the cash register allowed it. Tee times got delayed 8minuted. Poor decision

Nice day and pretty decent conditions
Had a good tee time on a beautiful day, and wasn't disappointed with the course conditions at all. Ninety degree rule in effect, but pretty decent greens, although a little slow, and pretty good fairways.

Slow Round
We were a twosome and got stuck behind 2 groups of ladies on the 10th tee. And while we were waiting to tee of, another group of ladies came off of the 18th green and cut in front of us to tee off on 10. Needless to say my buddy and I were pretty angry and debated on going back to the pro shop to voice our opinion but we decided to play on. So we stayed behind the ladies until we got done on hole 12 and then went back to hole 10 and started our 9 all over to get away from the slow play. This has happened before at Havens and we are seriously thinking about not playing there anymore.

First time on course
Since they just got done over seeding I can not say much except the green was very slow.

Haven
We played this course several weeks prior within a day or two of it being reopened after overseeding. It was a bit rough then so we thought we would give it another chance. We were disappointed. Greens on front were shaggy and in some cases unputtable while on the back were In better shape. Bunkers have not been groomed and are hard packed, first cut around greens was patchy with grass clumps and bare spots. Fairways were in need of mowing and overwatered and muddy in spots. Tee boxes had not been moved recently and were raggedy. We have all played here numerous times and not seen the course in this kind of condition. Hopefully, it will be brought back to normal.
We apologize for the disappointing condition of the course during your visit, especially the shaggy greens, hard-packed bunkers, patchy first cuts, and overwatered fairways.
