About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Time to Mow
I am fully cognizant of the fact that this is overseeding time. However, losing balls or searching for 5 minutes before you find them when hit in the middle of the fairway is a bit over the top.
I am waiting anxiously for the fairways to be mowed to a playable height. That's when I will return.
Check weather conditions before you play
Somehow my reservation was for 9 holes and they wouldn't accommodate us for 18 holes...
It was cart path only...
The fairways were saturated with rain...rough day...

Playing Haven During Overseed
Playing Have during overseed is a great chose. It was CPO (Cart Path Only) and the cart paths run right next to the fairways so the walking was easy.
Fairways were in great shape and Greens were still a little slow but that is to be expected during overseed.
The weather was perfect.

Will not play again
Slow play, yes cart path only but allowing people to play with no clubs...bad
No ranger to speed up slow play.
Group in front was very rude. Would not let us play thru.
One hole took 31 min to finish.
After 9 I went to speak with the pro about playing without clubs and terrible slow play from group in front of us. He wasn't nice at all. He wouldn't give a 9 hole voucher even after admitting they shouldn't have been playing without clubs and slow play.
Will never play there again.

Grass length
With the course just coming off overseed, it was impossible to differentiate between the fairway and the rough unless your ball was resting on dirt. So the whole round was like playing from the rough with little or no roll once the ball landed.

Don’t play here during the overseeding process!
Big mistake to play Haven during overseeding. Started 30 minutes late because too many groups were on the course and it was cart path only. The round took nearly 5 hours to play!

Post overseed
First day open after overseeding. Had 7:31 tee time didn't get out to approx 7:50 Finished 9 holes at 10;30 Back 9 was totally bogged down. I left. Poor management .

Allergy City
Unfortunately the golf course was not in good shape and the fairways and greens were in just terrible condition. it is too bad that tee off and golf now including the haven golf websites do not say that the course is in not good shape and to drive as far as I did to get there I probably would’ve paid the extra couple dollars to play at a golf course that was in much better shape. Again, it has nothing to do with the staff that was working but it would be nice to know somewhere when you are booking online what type of condition the golf courses in.
