About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Great Public Course
My Son Danny and I played with a couple of nice guys named Don and Mike that played the course very well. Never met them before but they were very good golfers and they were nice guys and they weee patient with the pace of play. I am normally a fast golfer but it was okay because they were good company. So overall, golf was good, course was decent and weather was perfect.
Inexpensive gun course with great staff and patrons
A flat, wide open course with a bit more definition on the back nine. Great staff and friendly patrons, a value leader in Green Valley.

Weak over seed
Greens are super slow and over seed isn’t very good

Good shape.
Not hard to get a "Haven" logo on your golf ball with the cart paths in the middle of the fairways.
Greens slower than average but playable...... just need to make an adjustment early in the game.

Soon just right
Reseeding still in progress. Some thin areas, bunkers a bit clay-like but have depth and are playable with few rocks. Greens a bit slow now, but are smooth, and when the grass is cut shorter (a few weeks) all will be nice. Good cost value overall. Old school, no frills, flat, trees and some water, hit it and find it, but pleasant and being a bit easy helps move play along.
Bar is simple, no real food. Pro shop folks crusty but efficient. Car lady gets around regularly. Not many drinking water sources on course should be aware. Haven is a GV favorite for good reason.

Fairways bad
The fairways were not cut
Was like playing in the rough
I asked one of the workers and they said cut them every day. ( felt like saying , who ever cutting them not putting the blades down) Maybe im missing something. Over seeding, letting it grow ? Not a golf greens person. But it was not right. Hit down the fairway absolutely no role
Will try again if fairways are cut.

Time to Mow
I am fully cognizant of the fact that this is overseeding time. However, losing balls or searching for 5 minutes before you find them when hit in the middle of the fairway is a bit over the top.
I am waiting anxiously for the fairways to be mowed to a playable height. That's when I will return.

Check weather conditions before you play
Somehow my reservation was for 9 holes and they wouldn't accommodate us for 18 holes...
It was cart path only...
The fairways were saturated with rain...rough day...
