About
Built along the Santa Cruz River, Haven Golf Course offers scenic views of the Santa Rita Mountains. Built in 1967, it is Green Valley’s oldest golf course and the only course in the area where walking is allowed. The landscape is covered with mature pines, palms, and eucalyptus trees. There are water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play, but overall the golf course has an enjoyable, player-friendly layout. In addition to the 18-hole course, the Haven Golf G.C. facility features a nine-hole, par-3 golf course called Tortuga. There is also a complete practice facility with all-grass hitting stations that provides excellent short game practice.

Below average condition for the area
I’ll begin with the positives: friendly staff and affordable greens fees. That said, since this time of year most of the local courses are preparing for winter overseed, the current course conditions may not be indicative of normal or prime conditions. Haven is a 50+ year old course with a 50+ year old design (tiny greens, crusty dirt bunkers, cart paths running through the center-line of fairways). The course is not overly challenging but can present issues scoring on its firm, shaggy and bumpy greens. Lastly, the mosquitoes and gnats were atrocious the day I played! Even after lathering up with OFF, they still loved swarming around my ears and mouth on EVERY shot.

Golf now price v what the cashier wants
Booked on line via golf now Paid $11 up front with a balance due at course Cashier tells me green fees plus tax I informed her I booked on line and my screen shot shows what I owe at course which was less. Her response is well my sheet show different so pay it. It’s stupid to use golf now if I have to pay service fee and tax just for the use of the site or the course and cashiers need to learn how to use the system either way not happy
Beware the scramble couples group
Had to walk off the course after playing 9 holes in three hours. They have a group that tees off 9:30 husbands and wives and they do a scramble format. If you get stuck behind them, you’re doomed. Gotta get out before them.

Unfriendly staff
We arrived 45 minutes early & because it was extremely hot out we asked the lady behind the.counter (the clerk & starter) if there was a possibility to tee off early & she said, "NO"! Go into the bar = get a beer!! There was absolutely NOBODY else waiting to tee off so we waited a few minutes on the putting Green, still NOBODY was there to play. After waiting 40 minutes, she called our name to tee off. There was absolutely NONREASON for her to make us wait to tee off. We certainly could understand the need to wait if there was someone in front of us with an assigned tee time prior to ours, but there was NOBODY. Anyway, we enjoyed playing the course & was satisfied with everything else but the four of us all agreed that the young lady behind the desk. Outdoor have made it so. I have more enjoyable if she would have accommodated us by letting us tee off 40 minutes earlier.

Inflexible and robotic staff
My wife who is only an occasional golfer didn't want to play but wanted to ride with me but was charged $20, which is more than the cost to play other neighbouring courses. Company policy!! She had a choice of paying up or sitting in the unfriendly lounge until I had finished. Spoilt what could have been a pleasant experience on a good course.

Summer Conditions
Love the track, had some brown spots due to the season. Would love to play it in the winter but overall a great value.

Spend some money!
Been in Green Valley for 4 years and the owners have done nothing to improve the course except general maintenance. Horrible tee boxes, deadfall everywhere, ungroomed traps. The greens are marginal. Fairways very patchy. The rough in most places is just dirt. After the day before monsoons, mud!. The question here is. How much profit are they taking from the course? Before the high season starts this course should be shut down for a month or more for a complete overall. Then again, the owners may just be milking it.

Course needs a lot of work on the fairways & tee blocks
Tee blocks are in bad shape & the "rough" area is all dirt.
Not impressed at all. The price was right, $20.00 but I would never pay anymore than that. The gentleman behind the desk was FABULOUS. EXTREMELY friendly. .

Needs work
Green are in pretty good shape but the fairways have a lot of bare ground. Could use a little seeding.

Good deal at the price
Have played Haven several times before. Tee boxes need work, fairways bald in areas, cart path worn. Greens playing very slow.
Staff at pro shop, and restaurant nice and accommodating.
Booked an early round at a decent price so I was not disappointed. Still a good day out at the price.

Fairways were terrible, large areas with absolutely no grass of any kind just dirt. Not even any weeds.
