Four Peaks Course at Sunland Springs Village
About
Like many other golf courses in the Phoenix area, Sunland Springs Village is a desert style golf course. But unlike many other desert courses, this golf course has grass extending from the tees all the way to the greens. This executive course also features wide fairways with forgiving landing areas and large, undulating greens. There are water hazards and sand bunkers placed strategically throughout the course. The par-4 second hole is the signature hole, requiring a difficult shot over water. In addition to the golf course, Sunland Springs Village is also home to a golf school and practice facilities including a driving range, chipping area, and putting green.

VERY slow play!
First off the staff were very friendly. The course appeared to be in very good shape. It was nice to hit balls on a range with grass tees. After this it was down hill. First off the course was very busy. There was no starter. I would think a course this busy would have a starter. I teed off on the San Tan course. I was paired with a twosome who was late getting to the first tee. I had to call the pro shop to find out if they had checked in. Finally they show up a few minutes past my scheduled tee time. They tell me that they play slow because they are not good golfers. In the meantime I needed to let the foursome behind me play through because they were late. Because there was a league playing in front of the group that was playing in front of me it was very slow play. To play 3 holes it took almost an hour. Once getting to the 4th tee box the last group of the league was just walking up to the tee box and the group ahead of me and my three some were waiting. I took another 15 minutes before my group was able to tee off. I ended my round there. Because it was now 1:45 which was an hour since starting my round. At this rate my round was going to easily be over 5 hours long. I went into the pro shop to complain but they were very busy so I left. It asks to rate the course layout but with only playing 3 holes it's difficult to rate that. I understand that this is Arizona and courses are busy. This is why a course needs starters and a ranger to attempt to speed up play.
Slow play, no marshal
Course is in nice shape. Only negative was we as a 4 some had a 3 some in front of us that we had to wait on at every shot. No Marshal to get them moving!
Four Peaks
fairways and greens are in very good condition. I prefer a bit longer course, with 5 par 3's I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. All in all a satisfying experience.
Ok place to play
Easy to find , easy check in,carts good and pretty clean, have to get score card, ice chests and sand bucket holders on carts but no ice or sand, water buckets for towels, easy to navigate course, tees a little beat and sometimes a little uneven, fairways good, roughs dry and roll good, bunkers with limited sand, greens seem to be variable with speed and generally some movement right at the hole, stay below red flags, still have to chip and putt to score
Great, but......
Wouls have been a very enjoyable round except for the slow play. Had two or three groups in front of us that were't playing ready golf. Course needs a Marshall to promote that rule.
Sunland Springs
We played 2 of 3 nines so didn’t pay Superstitions 9. Good experience overall. Rough isn’t over seeded and some fairways are slopey so you may play out of the dormant grass. No big deal but not as nice as overseeded rough. Played with residents who were very nice. Canadians too.
