Wellman Golf Club

I have played Wellman several times.

The greens and fairways are in great shape.

Only concern is the cart paths. Very rough.

Friendly staff. Fun place to play.

Will be back!

Course was very good, very nice pro shop, locals were very friendly.we plan on returning.

The Hot deal was half price of a standard teatime, but I’ve never been so disinterested in playing the round that I paid for.

The pace of play was so bad. Slow foursome after foursome after foursome on a Friday morning. Average piece of play was well over five hours.

I was a single, and ended up skipping three holes to try to even have time to finish my round. Waited over 15 minutes between shots on numerous occasions throughout the round.

The course was also incredibly soggy. Puddles, and mud on nearly every fairway. It did not rain within the previous 48 hours. Sinking your shoes in mud when standing over your ball in the middle of the fairway is not a great experience.

Love playing this course. Great front 9 but even better back 9 layout. Only complaint I have about this course is it not having a starter or ranger. Was behind a twosome that was behind a foursome that would not let anyone play through, even though there was no players in front of them. Over 5 hour round and waited for every shot. Great course to play if you’re in the area and have time.

Course is really in good condition, and the staff was friendly.

My only issue is there are no yardage markers on the course.

A simple black and white post 150 yds out, would be great

This is a no frills golf course but it is in good shape and very fun to play. It has some challenging holes and for the rate, it is well worth the money.

Really like the course. Great staff, friendly and accommodating. Play often on weekday afternoons. Keep running into same guy who can't believe there's anyone there besides him. Sees people behind him but continues to hit extra balls and give lessons to his partner. Management needs a ranger. Makes it difficult to go back there because they have really done a nice job with the renovations. I live about 30 minutes from there and am surrounded by golf courses. I play there because I like the golf course.

Curse is in excellent condition even after so much rain in the area. Very enjoyable and great staff

Course could use 150 yd fw markers as there are no visible yd markers and the course booklet does not help much. Would also speed up play as I found myself looking for distance to pin.

have to think about your shots and plan, They have a really great challenge joke number 11 and one so so hole that is nothing special number 10. Greens in excellent condition but just too slow. This is my 3rd time over last 5/6 weeks playing the course and they are working to get greens quicker. Fairways are great and love the high rough it’s great to look from the tee snd see a runway because you can define fairway and rough. Cart paths are tough and players are driving carts to much on course because of it but the votes is firm and plays great. Tee boxes are a little too hard and need trimmed tight. Worth the drive from Myrtle to get away from 5 hour rounds as you will play in about 3 hours and 45 minutes and only have a45 minute drive.

Everyone there is very personable and enjoyable..

I hate slow greens but with a great course layout snd good fairways I really love the challenge and course as they have 17 great holes just a Ho hum 10th.

Look forward to playing this course a often as possible.

Decent course but exceptional value. Course is clean and maintained pretty well. Not an overly difficult course but there are a handful of challenging holes. To practice your swing and bang a few balls around for cheap. Cant beat it. I recommend

I enjoyed the course and would consider returning in the future. It is a very peaceful place to play. The staff is friendly and the pro shop is well kept. The course is moderately challenging.

What a hidden gem of a course. Friendly people, fun layout (except for hole 11 IYKYK) but except for the teeth shattering cart paths and a few greens that are healing, this is a fun tract and plays to every player no matter their abilities. Don't forget your bug spray. Ti's the season.

This is a great course off the beaten trail. No myrtle beach traffic to worry about. Great course all around.
