Greens had recently been aerated (2 weeks prior) so still not running true. Overall nice course and will play again.
What a deal!!
The course is in excellent shape, although the greens had been aireated last week. The layout is superb, with a nice mix of elevations. Very few people on the course (Monday), so I had a 2:30 round. With gold now hot deal, I paid $16. What's not to like?
Nice course
Friendly staff, course in very nice condition except cart paths.
Nice course, but…
This is a very nice course, and staff is very friendly; however, I did not learn that the front nine was closed for aeration until I arrived at the course. I was offered the choice of playing the back nine twice or getting a nine hole rain check, I decided to play the back nine twice, but after nine holes, I decided to be done for the day. I probably could’ve gotten the rain check if I had asked, but there were a few people checking in, and I didn’t want to wait around for it.
A GREAT course to play!
First time on this course. Staff are extremely friendly and informative. Course conditions are great. Greens are fast. Worth the hour drive!

A pure golf gem!
Been playing this course for years. Very disappointed it closed! Watched my son play this course thru high school! Course is in great shape, staff are very accommodating! Good to see this beauty back open and it’s so much fun to play!
Hidden Gem
So glad I found this place. Had no idea it was even there. Recently renovated and reopened after many years being closed. Rees Jones did the reno and it’s fantastic. Great layout. Greens have that new green firmness, but they roll great. I will be back!
Great value
Wellman is a nice golf course .Small town feel. Fun to play away from the Myrtle beach mess.
Price can’t be beat. Yes the cart paths are a little rough. Fairways , greens in excellent shape.
No 20 minute wait at every hole.
Very surprising . i heard that thé course was closed for 10 yearling. Greens and fairways in good shape. Very good average course, Nice layout .
