Oakcreek Country Club is situated amongst Sedona's red rock mountains, providing unique scenery throughout. Opened over 40 years ago, it is Sedona's first golf course. The course was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones, Sr. and his son. It is a classic, player-friendly layout that offers plenty of room for error. There are also several opportunities to recover errant shots incorporated into the design. Despite its forgiving nature, the golf course definitely has its challenges. There are tree-lined fairways with bunkers strategically positioned in the landing areas and elevated greens bordered by large, swirling bunkers. Three lakes also come into play on five holes. Oakcreek Country Club requires accuracy as well as length in order to score well. Next to the clubhouse there are extensive practice facilities including a large driving range with target areas, a practice green, putting and chipping greens, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

A very challenging but fair layout.

Good reservation system, pricey greens fees, excellent course layout and treacherous greens. Requires shaped tee shots for position to the greens and full carries onto the greens, which were fast and with significant breaks. Look forward to playing the full 18 on our next visit.

Phenomenal Greens

Greens were absolutely incredible. Fast, yet receptive, rolled so true! Rest of the course was in good shape too. Range was really beat up which drops my review down to 4 stars. Also, no quick food items at the turn so pace of play backed up a little.

Excruciatingly slow play

We had a 1:14 tee time and starter explained to us that there was a practice round tournament going on ahead of us and it was a very large field. We witnessed many players dropping extra balls on all areas of golf course. Never should have taken tee times so close we played 12 holes in 3:45 and finally it was so backed up that we walked off. Shame on them!!!!
