Union Hills Golf & Country Club
About
The golf course at the Union Hills Country Club is a championship course with a traditional layout. The course has been named one of the Top Ten Private Courses in Arizona. The design features four lakes and two winding creeks that create water hazards that come into play on a few holes. There are also several sand bunkers present. Some of the golf course's greens are elevated and the fairways are average sized in width. The signature hole is the par-4 14th hole, which requires a carry over water. Union Hills Country Club also has a putting green and full driving range for golfers to use.

Good Fairways and greens
The fairways and greens are in great shape. Rough is good around greens but a little thin in some places. Sand traps were not good, some should have been marked under repair. Pace of play was great. Since the last time I played there they have added GPS to their carts. The carts were in better condition too.
Hidden Gem
This is a great track in the west valley. Course was in good shape and fun to play. Tree lined holes force good shots off the tee and greens have enough slope to keep things interesting. So refreshing to play a course this time of year and not have to pay $120 on a weekday afternoon.
Other reviews
Enjoyed playing this course. My first time. Course is in very good condition. I play once a week. Played most courses in the valley. Don't understsnd the bad reviews. I hesitated playing here because of it. Going to play here again soon & often.
Failed Country Club
The two entrances have monument signs that clearly show that the words "Country Club" have been removed from below "Union Hills". Tacky. The signage is poor for first timers to find the pro shop. The club house was locked. The first and 18th fairways have white range balls in them making it difficult to find your ball, if you are using a white one. The fairways, greens, and bunkers were in great condition. The rough was hard, dry and in poor condition.
Fun course and the best burgers!
The course was in fantastic shape. We loved the new GOA units on the golf carts as well. Tammy was on the grill as always and honestly is a big reason we love playing there. If we have a choice between a few courses the conversation is typically “do we want to play this course, that course or get Tammy burgers?” She always wins 😀
Fairways and greens are a 10
Since new ownership, it is changing and in spite of “don’t miss the fairways” scene, very fair and looking good. Keep up the transition work.
Bad looking
My rating of course Cond is a little weird because the fairways and greens were in good shape but anywhere off the fairway was horrible and I mean high grass weeds, blotchy patches, uneven grass, mud dirt just visually bad. And when you pull into the parking lot there’s so many weeds. It looks like the course has been closed for years, horrible looking.
Better than ever!
It might be a typical Sun City layout but the course was in great shape except for some bunkers which needed attention. Great pace of play in ideal conditions too! They have also invested in new carts with GPS.
Pleasant round at Union Hills
My wife and I went back to Union Hills for the first time in quite a while and were pleased to find the course in great shape. Had an enjoyable round even though winds were quite strong at times.
Will likely go back again in near future!
Pleasant surprise
We drove a considerable distance to play this course. Really enjoyed our day. Course is in reasonably good shape, carts are comfortable electric with GPS. Staff was pleasant with good service. Will try to play again soon.
Decent
The course conditions were decent. Played a little slow at just over 4.5 hrs. The back nine presented a little more challenge with water in play on several holes. Would play again if the rate is $50-$70.
Great course
Definitely the “best golf course in Phoenix you’ve never heard of.”
Very well maintained and surprisingly few people playing during the week- even in “prime tee times.”
Good value
Course was in good condition and the greens were fairly good. Pace of play was 4hrs 15 minutes
