Willowcreek Golf Course

About
Willowcreek Golf Course in Sun City has one regulation length 18-hole course, the Willowcreek Course, as well as one executive length course, the Willowbrook Course. The traditional layout of the Willowcreek Course features three lakes that form water hazards that come into play on four holes. The course is relatively flat but there are some minor rolling hills that cause uneven lies. The fairways and greens are consistently in good condition on both courses and they are both considered very user-friendly. The Willowcreek Golf Course facility used to be private but it is now open to the public.

Willow "CREEK"
Hard pan, around the greens, fairways too. Layout is fun and greens are fast. There is little forgiveness if you miss the fairway.
Good value but painfully slow
This was my first time on the course, but after three hours for 11 holes we just gave up.
Above average Sun City greens
Course layout is decent. Greens had more grass than other Sun City courses so we’re more consistent. Played behind the end of a tournament 2 1/2 hr front and 2 1/4 back. Wish they told you a tournament is scheduled before you make the tee time. Finished jus as the sun set.
Great value
Nice place to play a quick 9 Pace of play (4PM) was great course in decent shape. Fun time
Slow
Slow going. Groups of 5 and golfers playing from the wrong tees slowed down the pace. No Ranger/Marshal anywhere on the course. The pace got worse on the back 9. The last 4-5 holes was brutal waiting for golfers to get moving.
i would return
First time to play this course. The fairways were excellent and even if you were off them you weren't badly penalized. The greens appear to have recently sanded but were pretty fast. Nearly all the fairways slope to the right where there is often water so it can be challenging for someone with a fade or slice. Like many courses I've played in the last several months a map on the scorecard would be handy. Despite the fact we had a five-some in front of us we completed our round in 4 hours. I would strongly recommend this course.
Hidden Gem
Nice course, except for “Pace of Play”. Fair enough for beginners and tough enough for advance players. In very good condition. And the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Would definitely recommend to others.
I rate this course highly...
Course is in great playing shape, down to the sand traps. A good mix of trees, water and sand to make it challenging but fair. And on GolfNow, if buying a Hot Deal very affordable for this time of year....

No Fivesomes!
My round yesterday was the fifth time playing Willowscreek. I really like the moderate layout of the course. You must make good shots and putts to score, but, a player can also get around the course without extreme frustration due to difficulty.
The problem is very slow play. I realize this course is active with senior citizens and is popular for high handicap golfers. With that said, course supervisors should not allow 'fivesomes' on the course during the busy time of the golfing season. When we came to the 4th hole, a par three, there were four groups waiting to tee up! And 2 of those groups had 5 players. The rest of the round was about a 5 minute wait off the tee on every hole. This is not how golf was intended to play. We were only able to finish 17 holes due to darkness. Bottom line, a very frustrating round of golf for a 12 handicap golfer.
Beautiful Day
We had a wonderful time ! Good choice for our first round in the area! We will be back!! Thanks
Very SLOW PLAY !!
Played first 5 holes in hour, next 4 holes took almost 2 hours, no ranger in sight so after the front 9 I called it a day, too many groups of 5 , will not be going back anytime soon, plus when you book online the course adds cart fees to the total this course is way overpriced like many of the Sun City courses, plus they over water so always standing on wet / muddy ground
