Briarwood Country Club at Sun City West
About
The golf course at Briarwood Country Club provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a peaceful atmosphere. All skill levels and abilities can enjoy this course. The design features relatively open fairways that are lined with trees and water hazards that come into play on several holes. There are also a few sand bunkers cleverly situated throughout. The course is a nice walk, which is advantageous since any golf carts on the course are owned by members not the club. Briarwood Country Club has practice facilities for golfers to use as well including a putting green and chipping area.

Overall great course with really quality conditions especially for the time of year. Only issue was they were starting people off of whole 10 so when we came back around and started hole one they had sent a group ahead of us to start on one so instead of finishing under three hours we finished around four otherwise great course.

Fun course. Most greens are uphill and require extra club
Hot Summer Golf
With the past few weeks hot temperatures one might have expected the course to be in less than stellar condition. The reality is the course was in nearly perfect condition with a few bare spots here and there but nothing that can't be overlooked or ignored. The greens were an excellent condition pretty darn fast as well.
We were grateful for being able to play a course where non-members are not frequently allowed.
Had to give it a shot.
First time on Golfnow that I have seen this course available. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Brisk pace of play and nice course conditions. Not terribly challenging but it does make you think about shot placement in several holes.
Would definitely play again.
worth playing
Played an amateur sanctioned event.
Practice facility was good. However, due to limited space, special low compression balls are used on the range
to mitigate distance. Range is for warming up only.
The course is all Bermuda grass which is kept in very good shape. Fairways are wide open, however several holes
require some layup thought as there is a small creek that gerrymanders throughout the course.
Bunkers were to my liking. The greens varied in shape quite a bit, with some undulation on each one. The surface was
very good to putt on however, some of the greens “ hour glass” shapes made for strange pin positions.
All things considered it is a good track for a beginner or average golfer.
Clubhouse seemed nice ( didn’t have time to fully explore it) and the food was very good value with friendly staff.
If i had to change one thing - i would utilize electric carts.
