Trail Ridge Golf Course at Sun City West
About
Trail Ridge Golf Course offers a good game on a truly desert landscape. Built on mostly flat terrain, the course can be walked but there are some holes that are quite hilly. Ponds situated throughout the golf course create water hazards that come into play on six holes. There are some elevated tees and greens as well as strategically placed sand bunkers to add further challenges. Four sets of tee boxes ensure that golfers of all skill levels and abilities will enjoy the course. The Trail Ridge Golf Course facility also features practice facilities including a putting green and chipping area and there is also a fully stocked pro shop.

Reviews
Good conditions & fast greens. For the value you can’t beat Sun City West courses. Nice amenities & friendly staff. Sun City could definitely learn a thing or two from SCW on how to maximize the golfing experience
Omaha native
Excellent value, fairways and greens in excellent shape, some bare areas in rough- expected this time of year. Would recommend to anyone looking for good value and willing to drive. Fairly flat and easy to Walk.
Best course yet
Got a hot deal and was surprised by how nice this course is. Nice staff, nice carts, great course.
Staff unable to accommodate my tee time due to being booked through golf now. Lost my tee time and my credits.
Great course
If you haven't played this course, it's a must if you play courses in Sun City West. It is vastly different from the other 3 par 72 public courses in SCW. It offers plenty of challenging holes with a few easy holes as well. Plenty of water, bunker hazards make it a challenge.
Tee times too close- 7 minutes
Played the front in 2 1/2 hours, due to a group of 5 that teed off two spots in front of us (we were a foursome, with one walker). Asked the marshall TWICE to say something- these people clearly had never played before, didn't know course etiquette- but that IS THE MARSHALLS JOB! Why have a marshall if they aren't going to do anything? And then, luckily they only played nine holes- but as we were walking to the tenth tee, a single jumped in front of us, WITH THE MARSHALLS BLESSING!! Are you kidding me? Back took ANOTHER 2 1/2 hours . Unacceptable. Wont be back.
Let your Marshalls marshall
Enjoyed the layout and conditions. Greens were rolling great. 3hrs to play the first 10 holes is not what the majority of golfers want… marshall new the culprits but did not remedy the issue
Challenging Course
This course has plenty of challenges. Besides the normal bunker and water hazards, expect greens to be relatively difficult to hold a wedge shot unless you really sky it. It played very slow as this was the last day of a 4 day men's challenge tournament. I wasn't aware of this or I would not have played this course on this day.
Fun Course to Play
This was the second time playing Trail Ridge. It was very windy, so that made the course tougher. The fairways and greens were in great shape, but the ground was very hard. It was very difficult to land on the green and stop the ball.
There were 2groups ahead of us slowing. We had 4groups waiting for them on par 3 n 4s.
MARSHELL came buy n admitted that there was no one in front of this group. He would not do anything n drove off.
I feel if I pay for 18 holes I should have time to finish course we started early to give us time to finish
Bad real bad
Not family friendly
The range ball dispenser rips you off. If you purchase a full bucket which is supposed to be 60 balls you get 40. The first batch it gives you is ~ 30 balls, the second batch is ~10. None of the other SCW courses do this. My friend brought his grandkids to ride in the cart while we played golf. I was walking so we had room for the grandkids. He expected to pay a riders fee. We have done this at other courses in the area and it was no problem. This course told him he had to pay FULL price for golf for both kids under 12 and the cart fee on top. When he asked why he was told it was a policy and that "someone" had complained. How does charging kids under 12 full price fix someone's complaint? They are not playing golf. Seems to me this course just rips you off as a policy. We will not be returning ever. Too many other courses that treat you fairly.
