Hillcrest Golf Club at Sun City West

Pace could have definitely been better. Not much the course could have done but the single golfer that joined our group shouldn’t play with others going forward. Would have loved to enjoy the round but with this person it was tough. Will go back and recommend, just hopefully not to get paired up with that gentlemen again.

For a course with so MANY bare spot, it's surprisingly EASY to lose your ball in the 8 inches of rough right next to it.... Walked OFF after 5 holes out was so bad. Do not recommend

Wanted to play a nice early morning round and I had been to Hillcrest before, I knew not to expect much but when I went before I had a decent time out there. Course wasn’t pristine but it was in good enough shape for a guy like me to play a round. This last time I went however was extremely disappointing, you want to support smaller courses like this but you wish they’d at least take some kind of pride in the shape of their golf course. I understand the Arizona summer brings challenges but they should be embarrassed if themselves for charging people $40 to play on this track. It might be worth $15 for 36 holes.

I know there are plenty of reviews stating lack of grass on the fairways and I experienced that a few months ago too, but that was not my experience this time. Recent rains must have helped in that area. Not perfect but very playable. Greens were a little slow but mostly in good shape. Bunkers are still bad, but they have done a little work on some of them to improve them. Not much sand so this is still the weakest link on the course in my opinion and most are not worth hitting out of. Still a good value for the money with a Hot Deal

THe couse is in fair shape. The greens are ok but the fairways are pretty bare. Lots of areas without grass to hit off of. The staff were great as always.

I booked a tee time at HillCrest in hopes that the course would be in better shape than the last time I played there, however, my hopes were unrealized! Each fairway had areas that were extremely burnt out and unplayable. In addition to that, the above ground sprinklers were on and the bare spots (and there were many) were soaking wet and muddy, thus we could not “play the ball as it lies”. The bunkers were “dirt filled” and, in some cases “muddy and wet”. It’s sad because the course layout is visually appealing and challenging, however the course conditions makes the layout irrelevant. With a little extra care this could be a pleasant day of golf. We’ll have to wait until and see if it’s ever afforded the “little care” it needs.

Fairways were a bit tattered but the greens were in great condition 👌.Really nice staff in the club house! CHEERS

Never will golf here again. Horrible conditions and the woman in golf shop with short hair was rude and told me I could only golf front 9 smh no warning no heads up from Golf Now nothing. After driving over an hour I was forced to play and even that was a mistake. Horrible conditions and no excuses

First time playing course. It may be because of the summer time but the conditions on the course were just terrible. Mud everywhere, bunkers rock hard, standing puddles of water in bunkers and on fairways.

Tee boxes not set up, sprinklers on in the middle of the fairway(granted they did feel nice in the heat). We also got the unluckiness of doing a day where we had to play the front 9 twice since the back 9 was being aerated.
