Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

Great course !!!

This is a very challenging course and fun at the same time. It has some very long par 5’s. Don’t forget to call in your food on hole #8.

Not bad for the price.

The pace was fast but that could be due to a low number of players. Arizona heat tends to do that.

Greens and fairways could use some work. Greens are still recovering from being aerated. A bit bumpy and sandy. Seemed like I landed in a divot or hole every time I hit a fairway.

Tee boxes need improvement. Any time I play here it seems as if the greens keepers intentionally place the tees on the uneven torn up spots in the tee boxes.

Hillcrest? More like hill-crust

This course used to be a an oasis in the desert, now it seems like it’s all but deserted. The greens didn’t roll very well, and the middle of the fairways were burnt/or fungus killed out. The tee boxes were also trash. Sand traps were filled with quickcrete, and there was standing water all over the course. Unfortunate.

Decent course

Not a bad course. Played here a few months ago and it was in way better condition. Today, the fairways were soaked with water and bunkers were pretty much mud. The grass was patchy and not in the greatest condition. Still a decent course.

There are courses in Sun City in much better conditions for the same price. I'd recommend Sun City Riverview or Union Hills Country Club...same pricing, better conditions.

Poor course landscaping

Muddy fairways, very little grass, bunkers with packed wet sand made for a less than ideal experience. 60-70 percent of the time hitting off if muddy conditions in the middle of the fairways. Greens were by far superior to the tee boxes and rest of the course.

Usually a great fun course to play so pretty disappointed in the overall condition it has fallen to at this time.
