About
Founded in 1917, Washoe Golf Course is the oldest golfing facility in Reno. The layout has small greens and tree-lined fairways, but the fairways are wide and flat making them fairly forgiving. There are water hazards and bunkers strategically placed throughout. The mature landscape is carefully maintained with an elaborate sprinkler system that ensures that the course is green and ready for play all year round. Washoe Golf Course also has PGA Professionals on staff to help with individual or group instruction and extensive practice facilities that include a generous putting green, driving range, and a chipping area with practice bunker.

Going downhill
Are used to live close to this golf course and would play it a lot and it would be in good shape I have not played it for a few years and now going back it is in a lot worse shape than it used to be now they are trying to make money by having a disc golf course where the regular golf courses and there is too many players playing across each other it is not comfortable or fun or in good shape I would not recommend it
Poor time management
I have never played this course at an acceptable pace. It’s always backed up and tee times frequently get delayed. Yesterday there was a fivesome playing two spots ahead who took 3.5 hours to finish the front 9. The marshal didn’t do
anything to pick up the pace. A slow pace is common for cheaper muni courses, but this course is nearly unbearable.
Awful golf course
The condition of the fairways is awful, the pace of playing extremely slow. I will never go play there again.

Father and son outing
Played this course many times while living in Reno. I can understand how hard it is this year to maintain the course but the fairways weren’t mowed and we’re very wet. Had to play lift clean and place without any rain. No ball washers available and no wet towel either. Had a gift card to spend there but they couldn’t get it to work so I guess the person who gave it to me as a gift wasted money.
Disappointed
I really love this course and have played it many times but it was in terrible condition.. the sprinklers came on during 3 to 4 holes at different times and locations on the course and it was really annoying!! The bar closed at 6pm on a Friday night when is was 97 degrees outside and we still had 5 holes to go. We couldn’t get anything to drink from the pro shop and ended up getting tepid water from a drinking fountain. I hope they get their act together because this used to be one of my favorite places to play and now it’s disappointing.
Good course for beginners, or for those that don’t want to spend a lot of money, but overall, just okay. No protection from golfers on #1 because of errant shots from the driving range. Needs to have a big netting between the two. Also very wet and many areas with no grass at all. Need a few signs to tell you where to go also
Oh man
I generally love Washoe but I played yesterday and it was literally the worst conditions I have ever played. Course is in terrible shape right now. Like really really bad. I would avoid right now
