About
Founded in 1917, Washoe Golf Course is the oldest golfing facility in Reno. The layout has small greens and tree-lined fairways, but the fairways are wide and flat making them fairly forgiving. There are water hazards and bunkers strategically placed throughout. The mature landscape is carefully maintained with an elaborate sprinkler system that ensures that the course is green and ready for play all year round. Washoe Golf Course also has PGA Professionals on staff to help with individual or group instruction and extensive practice facilities that include a generous putting green, driving range, and a chipping area with practice bunker.

Hi hum round
Course was in terrible condition in front of every green. It was soaking wet. The pace was terrible. We had to 8some in front of us. Fairways at most look like a goat farm patchy everywhere is very flat, not too challenging kind of boring even I guess a good place to practice your game just from the green thing I gotta say The putting surface was really nice I don’t think I’ll ever come back unless it was free
The Shoe
This is my first time playing the course and overall it was a pretty straightforward and good course for the money. There were several spots in the fairways and around the greens that were either too wet or needing resodding. Fortunately, I did not go into any bunkers, but a good refreshing with new sand is definitely needed. The greens put great! The layout of the back nine I enjoyed the most, but the front wasn’t bad either. I’ll definitely go back and play it again!
Not worth 55$
Every time I come to this course they are extremely wet and have people all over working. Get that done early. Also your pace of play is awful. No one is monitoring the speed. The grounds keeper was literally spraying g the green as we were putting. Easily the worst corse in Reno.
Washoe course
The greens were fast, the fairways were in much better shape than the last time I played this course. I would recommend it to a friend
Slow Play!!!
Played this course several of times and always slow. Tee time was 20 mins behind schedule quit after 13 holes because that was 4.5 hours already! Course was the nicest I have seen ever though. Only go because it’s in town not worth it other than that.
Manager ride
Did not tell us all carts had to be returned by 5pm, manager came out on course and was rude. Our pace of play was 4:20 mins.
Fun course
Good course for the money.
Fairways 6 out of ten greens 8 out of ten course lay out 8 out of ten. Pretty fair course good layout.
Do they care?
Pace of play was incredibly slow. We waited 3-4 minutes EVERY hole. Called the clubhouse to no avail. Nothing changed. Took just over 5 hours to play. The guys in front of us and behind us were all angry about the situation. Greens are in good shape, but just the lack of care (weeds, dead limbs and trash) just goes to show they don't really care.
