Fantastic course
The greens have been moved so they are in perfect condition now. Much faster than they use to be.
Has a driving range, chipping area, and a fun half putt putt type of layout!
Do yourself a favor and book a tee time.
Good layout. Friendly staff and friendly golfers on course.
I was in town for a conference and tried this course based on the reviews from Golf Now. I was there well ahead of my tee time and the starter let mr out as soon as he had an opening. As a single, the group in front waves me ahead on the 3rd hole. Then the next group and the group after that. In all there were 7 or 8 groups that saved me through and I finished my 28 hole round in 2:05. The golfers here were incredibly friendly and it was a really fun track.
Fantastic course
Everything about this course is in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways, and the greens. Nice and fast!
The practice green by the clubhouse is fun. It reminds you of a putt putt course.
The driving range has been flipped around. Now you have to drive down the first hole to get on the range. Instead of hitting away from the clubhouse, you're now hitting towards the clubhouse. You won't hit the clubhouse though. So grip it and rip it!
Same course, new FAST greens!
Great course to play. Several holes offer a great view of Pilot Mt. Some challenging hole demand a smart attack plan.
They have flipped the driving range around. You now tee up from the backside of the range and hit towards the clubhouse... The practice putting green has some putt putt type hills. That's fun in itself while you test the speed.
Everything about the course is in fantastic shape. Will keep visiting this course!!
Greens are fast, unreceptive
Love the layout of the course. I'm 59 and an18 handicap golfer. playing from the white tee's wasn't too long but shots to the green's were an adventure. well played Wedges to the green couldn't be stopped, consistently rolling off the wavy, undulating greens. putting was another chore (40 putts made better by a chip in on 7), be prepared for anything on these greens, because you'll get it...this said, I'll play again but lower the expectations on the green's...
Firm greens
Beautiful course and a decent layout. Couldn’t get a ball to hold the firm greens so was playing tough with all the wind especially. They redone all the greens and they were in excellent shape. Still shot at my hc so was happy. Some holes if you missed the fairway and in the trees, be sure you watch for rocks. Some areas were pretty bad so was being careful. All in all we enjoyed our time. It’s a must play if you haven’t played it. We will definitely be back again.
Can’t go wrong
Played this course for several years. Always enjoyed it. With the improvements they’ve made the last couple years, it’s the best shape I’ve ever seen it. Well worth taking a day to play this track.
Underrated
More difficult for me than I thought the rating suggested. Several blind greens and most all are sloping fairways. Course in great shape.
Remodel is finished
The course is now open to everyone again. I don't know why they replaced the greens in the first place, but the new ones are fantastic!! The greens are crazy fast now. Depending on where the hole is located and where your ball lands, you could be up for some fun/challenging putting. They have added tiers that make it interesting. I love the new challenge (s)! They even replaced the practice green. It has multiple tiers to play with. I spent a half hour just playing with all of the brakes on the practice green. Put putt came to mind while playing/practicing. HA
Still a great course with fantastic greens. In tip top shape. And still the most comfortable golf cart seats my fanny has seen!
Not cool
1st off it was misleading about the greens from the app
Only 9 holes open.
They should have told us when we booked that they only had 9 holes open. Other 9 were closed due to putting in new greens. Fairways had been plugged. Poor conditions.
Great place
Every was friendly and helpful. The front 9was closed for green work. This is a challenging course.
Don't know why
Great course with some downhill challenges. Perfect greens. That's why I don't know why they would change them. I heard they are moving the greens in a couple of weeks. Will be placing temporary greens for the moving project. Why?? Just why??
A real test
I played Pilot Knob for the first time ever in February.
If you are looking for a challenge this is a great course. The greens are the quickest I played all year and this was in mid-February. Beyond quick greens they have a lot of slope and challenging breaks. Unfortunately, this led me to turn some 8 foot par putts into 25 foot bogey putts.
The course is very well maintained tee to green.
The staff were extremely helpful and provided us with great instruction before we started. The views of Pilot mountain from most holes are spectacular.
Challenging
The course is very challenging especially with as much wind as we had. I got their an hour before my tee time amd used the range, putting and chipping greens. The putting green is mostly on a slope. Range was great but 7 bucks for a medium bucket to warm up was a tad high. Some greens had false fronts and with the wind it made it much more difficult. Greens wh where great for the time of year. A couple had what seemed to be a different type of grass which was faster than others. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall we enjoyed our day of golf and I'd recommend it as a must play for area courses.
