Play here
With the exceptions of the bunkers, which were flooded and mud, not sand, the course is wonderful. We played in 4 hours flat.
Fairways and greens were ok, but two very rude old ladies.
It was cart path only after rain. Some folks were driving on fairways though. When we resumed the back nine after lunch, two rude old ladies behind us were pushing and yelling at us. Both fairways and greens were ok. Overall, it was good.
Beautiful Course but Staff Needs to Chill Out
This was our first time playing this course. We chose playing here because we have family in town. I get that the course is busy on a Saturday but in my 35 years of playing golf i have never been harassed as so much for pace of play. We were playing literally at a blistering pace and it was not good enough. We had visibility on the group ahead of us and were a shot behind them the whole time.

Happens a lot out there. The members run the place and treat outsiders like crud. Had a fivesome of members pushing a pair of us the entire round. Couldn’t understand it.
Greens still bumpy
Pace of play on front was excellent but then it seems like members jumped into back 9 slowing down to a snails pace.
Great course
Only issue right now is 3 holes were converted to par 3,s during resodding. Other than that 5 star sll the way
Great Layout BUT Greens Need Work
The layout of Harbor Lakes is great but there was a lot of poa annua on almost all of the greens making it extremely difficult to putt. The greens were very bumpy! If you take away the poa annua I would rate this course as 4 stars. One other comment on the conditions the sand in all of the bunkers was rock hard! It was like hitting off concrete.
Too good for Poa Annua!
Harbor Lakes in s such a great track! I just don’t know how such a good semi-private facility with such great amenities could let their course be overtaken by Poa Annua on the greens. Putting is reduced to a game of plinko where you never know if you make a good or bad putt! We will not be back till we know they have the Poa Annua cleared up.
Harbor Lakes 500
Been on my rotation of courses for a few years, but sadly that ended today. Way too crowded for a Monday, and the course member geezers decided to play 18 holes at a 2 hour pace, pushing up on everyone else.
For February, I’ll let the course conditions fly, although it was the driest I have ever seen this course, which is usually a mudpit in spring and summer.
Lastly, forcing people to pair up in carts, when there were 40-50 parked outside shack was totally ridiculous. You had 4-5 carts driving all around course for the member geezer posses. So I guess course degradation can’t be used as an excuse.
This course should just remove itself from Golf Now, because if you are a non member, the experience just isn’t worth the Granbury 377 gridlock, and the snobby attitudes. That’s about it.
Left range finder on cart
Left my new Bushnell Tour V6 shift range finder on the cart apparently the cart guy needed it more than me ,when I called back the next day to see if they found it they claim they didn’t have it
Not So Hidden Gem!
First time playing and was blown away by the quality of the greens and the general aesthetic of the course. Seemed like absolutely NO ONE was there playing when teed off at 9:40am and didn’t seem to get crowded after temperatures warmed up. Overall, I was highly impressed with the speed and consistency of the greens (faster than Whitestone) and admittedly at odd with the greenskeeper who decided to cut most pins at the top of slopes or unlevel areas on the green. Challenging for sure but no one likes 4 putting from 10 feet or missing a putt 1 inch above the cup that nearly comes to a complete stop to have it roll backwards and 6 feet away from the hole.
Aside from that, the only on course downside were the bunkers. Most were washed out and close to unplayable despite the area not having gotten a ton of rain.
I’ll be back for sure. Cart person was five star and the food in the clubhouse afterwards was great. Also, don’t sleep on the breakfast sandwich before the round. Delicious. The driving range is also in excellent shape. So nice to hit off of actual GREEN grass and not turf this time of year.
Best value in Texas
Honestly, I’ve played a lot of golf courses and this has to be the best value at the moment. Greens are absolutely fantastic!
Typical of there. The members act like snobs. Otherwise it’s a good course.
