Scammed
This was my first time here after being recommended by friends in the area. The staff took my bag to load up on a cart and stole my range finder off my bag. I found this out on the first hole and went back to the clubhouse, the entire staff was not helpful and just blamed it on my negligence and said that I lost it before getting to their property. I have security clips of leaving my home with my bag and rangefinder. This was ridiculous. Safe to say, I'll never be back or recommend anyone here.
Not worth the high price
7:30 tee time. Ask where I can get coffee, they tell me Starbucks. Most courses that charge $250 offer free coffee or at least have somewhere to buy a cup. I then ask where I can get water, they tell me the snack bar opens at 8:30 and the snack cart will be on course starting at 9:00. Mid August with temperatures in the high 80’s and they have NO WATER. We didn’t see the snack cart until the 9th green!!! For the price, put some ice and waters in the coolers on each cart. This is a limited service golf experience if I’ve ever had one and cannot recommend this course.
Meh
Arnold Palmer designed course, with very large green that have significant undulations and close to if not gimmicky. Only a few holes are pretty holes, otherwise boring scenery. Some greens were punched, while others weren’t, no rhythm or reason as to which ones. They have no drinking water available on the course and only at the snack bar which is inconveniently located. Driving range is mats only and they are used and beat up mats that you can’t find a flat lie on. The starter is pretty worthless, offering no assistance and limited information, pro shop guys are only slightly more helpful. Too much money for just an okay experience.
Spectacular golf course
It's unconscionable to be that anyone would give this course less than a 5 star rating. The facility is spectacular. The landscaping around this course is colorful and very beautiful. The course itself is very challenging - the greens are especially tough. Each hole presents a different challenge. I thought the first 3 holes were the easiest and then the back 15 are a real challenge.
Staff was very friendly. If I lived closer, I'd consider becoming a member here.
Very appealing
Underrated course in my opinion. Surprised me, particularly the back 9. It was really enjoyable
Aviara charm!!
A very fun and challenging course. Great condition overall. Really neat to play an LPGA tourney course. A little steep dollarwise.
Beautiful course
The entire experience of Aviara is one that everyone should experience. The course, scenery, and beauty made the day one to remember.
Loved it
Great course in top condition. Staff were excellent.
one of the best courses I've ever played
Great course and the layout is phenomenal. Greens were fast before the tournament and challenging but we had the best time. Friendly staff and the course landscaping is beyond anything I've played.
Amazing Course
This is a truly amazing course. I hadn't ever played it due to the higher price but had always wanted to. From the minute you arrive, you are treated like royalty! A cart was brought out to my car to load up my clubs and welcome me to the course. The starter, Joe, was very helpful and gave me advice on what tees to play. We settled on the tees where the lpga plays from (mainly blue with some white and silver mixed in). The course conditions were great even after much rain over the last 2 weeks. Greens really rolled out nicely. My only disappointment was there were too many unfixed ball marks and I repaired between 5 and 15 per hole. The layout was a great mix and I never got bored. The par 3's were very challenging with water on 3 of them. I will come back as often as I can. They also offered free range balls so get there early. Lastly, the yardage books were $20 but they had a great GPS on the cart that measured to the pin for the day.
Aviara Golf Course
Amazing course, great location and views, and super friendly staff. After the round we got a round of drinks and some awesome tacos next to the pro-shop in the restaurant, and it was overall a great experience.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a great day of golf!
Gorgeous Course
Staff was friendly and helpful, course was in pristine condition. Best course I've played yet.
Not So Great.
First off, the course plays way longer than the scorecard indicates. 14 holes play uphill or in to the wind. The greens were the biggest I have ever seen. That combined with the extreme slopes and speed made for a round of golf similar to a goofy pitch and putt..Terrible. La Costa is a much more fair test of golf. Encinitas Ranch is close by and half the price and way more fun!
Sandy greens not good
Played today front side was cart path only(fine) but there were 4-5 greens completely covered in sand for punching. Course wasn’t discounted, next time will take our business to maderas or somewhere else.
Good Conditions for August
Played this track back in June when the place was immaculate. I expected Aviara a little worse related to conditions and was fairly pleased. Tee to green looks pretty good. It's not spring conditions but its pretty impressive for August in SoCal. The fairways were great and the rough was on the light side. The greens were great. A little slow for me but rolled true.
Not sure if its worth the full price of admission right now but its pretty close. However, if you are looking to get your best bang for your buck, play this place in May/June when the conditions and greens are the best SoCal golf has to offer. You will not be disappointed!
Great staff and service. One minor problem I have...the golf carts are below average. Not something you expect when paying $$$
First Class Course
Really enjoyed this course. It can be fair from White tees and challenging from Blue tees. Greens roll very true. It played firm and fast but very fair. Staff are very nice and the food is pretty good, but I am a picky eater.
