Hill Country Golf Club - Lakes/Creeks
About
Spread across 200 scenic acres of rolling meadows and steep hillsides, Hill Country Golf Club offers 27 scenic holes of championship golf. Designed by renowned architectural firm Arthur Hills & Associates, Golf Digest considers it one of Texas’ best places to play. Each course covers a beautiful landscape of native oak, wildflowers, and cactus. The Lakes Nine is obviously characterized by the clear blue lakes that come into play throughout the course. There are also wooded ravines and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course for even more challenges. The Creeks Nine, named after the creeks that meander through the layout, this course demands accuracy with water coming into play on several holes and numerous strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the three nines, Hill Country Golf Club also offers a putting green and driving range.

Creek Course #9 Photo submitted by GreerGolf on 06/06/2017
Under construction
This course gives you glimpses of what they are aiming to create! When the construction is done it will be amazing. But right now there were to many temp. Greens and tee boxes.
Fun if you don't keep a handicap.
The current construction precludes posting your score to GHIN. However, the construction means tee times are plentiful. We were neither hurried nor slowed during our round. The highlights: I missed a hole in one by literally an inch; we were sad to miss the challenge of a couple holes that had temporary greens in the fairway; despite starting midday, we were able to park very close to the clubhouse. Play here if you want to speed through 18 and don't care about posting a score. Otherwise, check with the pro shop as construction evolves to weigh your options.
I understand the course is under construction but it was confusing several times as to where is the next hole. I would love to play again when construction is complete. I played the Oaks and Lakes. Did not use the off course amenities.
Wait til construction is complete’
OK, they are building a lagoon and apparently moving some holes. But the course is a mess. Several par 4 and par 5 holes are now par 3. The way finding is terrible. We spent as much time trying to find the next hole as we did playing golf. We never did find the 18th hole. Just gave up and quit in frustration.
My issue is why there was nothing on GolfNow to let us know the course was under construction. We could have found another location. I think it’s wrong on the part of both the Hyatt AND GolfNow.
Horrible Experience/Cavaet Golfer
Horrible experience, all holes were cart path only. Pathetic impression left with my guest from Canada.
You need to be more honest on your Golf Now sales and tell us no practice range and the construction impact on 2 9th hole closing greens.
Expected more for the price and hype
Course rebuild is causing confusing hole locations.
Greens were tall.
This course would have to be heavily discounted again before I play it again.
In process of remodel
Unbeknownst to me the course was under going a resort remodeling and routes around holes and many holes were temporary greens or changed completely.
Not sure if remodeling will be an improvement for golf as much as the reaort.
Decent while under significant repairs
The course is under significant repair/renovation. I wasn’t aware upon booking however, course was playable. Several holes with significant alterations but not specified during check-in. Communication (at start or check-in), of course condition & alterations should be enhanced.
Under construction
one third of the course in under renovation and that's a good thing. I've played there several times. What is upsetting is Golf pass did not alert that this was happening. Had I knew, I would have gone someplace else.
The course was not in good shape (the playable part, watering desperately needed. Greens were OK, traps were very nice and staff was helpful, esp since there was temporary golf cart paths thru construction, fairways with greatly shortened lengths with those annoying, "hey let's make a green right here in the middle of the fairway..."
This normally is a well maintained Resort course here is San Antonio. Right now, the muni's here have this resort beat!
Under construction
This is a really nice course but right now they are doing construction around the course adding a water area for the resort
Some of the holes are shortened and some are confusing on where to go now
I suggest getting all the information before you can about the changes before playing. Hopefully when the construction is done will go back to the normal course.
Not worth the time
I’m sure when it’s at its peak it is good but this course was all cut up, had like 7 par 3’s
We should have been told it was like this
Thought it was great!!!
Went in thinking it was going to be horrible from previous reviews. Knowing they were under construction and some holes shortened and one temporary green. Greens were great would hold a shot and still super quick. Fairways were dormant but not an issue. Some tee boxes were a little weak but other than that had a great time. Played in just over 3 hours with a group of four. Can’t wait to see how everything looks after construction is finished.
Nice course. Has potential
Great deal but the course is in repair. Pace of play was great. Not crowded.
Love the course
Even going under some renovation, the course was in good condition and very fun to play
Just a great golf course
Wonderful layout, challenging but fair. The greens are good but winter conditions exist. The Oaks 9 is a strategists' dream. Direction and distance are a must. Construction and renovation is ongoing presently. No practice putting green. Driving range is limited to 140 yards.
