Very nice course
Got a great deal on golfnow.com. Nice course in good condition. Difficult course, lost a few ball in the bushes and rough.
Little room for error
I usually write detailed reviews but this one I will keep short and sweet..
The Babe layout is not for those who lack confidence. It will eat you alive if you have doubt. Rolling fairways, tiered greens and trees often between you and your target.. Lots of uneven lies and putts that have a mind of their own. The place is really nice to play.
A what? A 300 yard par 3? Good grief!!. I played it from blue and it was 241 but 300? Its fun to try and the bragging rights must be fun.
Greens were great! Roll true/. The tees were awful. Half dead but playable. They really shouldn't let them get like that.
All in all it was like 50% off. $110 regular price? Maybe, its unique for golf in So Cal. and tucked into tree lined fairways. Beautiful course and a beautiful place.
Need more staff
Nice course, great price, would play again.
Limited signage to range, pro shop, tee.
Won't give cart until 10 minutes before tee time.
Have to haul clubs across parking lot to driving range.
They need to work on customer service and/or increase staff levels.
Tough course, bring your A game.
Course was in good shape, rough is difficult, course layout forces you to leave driver in the bag, must use course management. Loved it!
Great Track!
Really like this track. Overall in very good condition, although thought the tee boxes could be in a little better shape. The course has a lot of mature trees around it, which can make for some tricky shots. Water comes into play on a few holes as well, and there are some tough dog legs and blind shots as well. Overall, a good test of golf skills. Pace of play was decent. Most waits were not more than a few minutes. I believe right now rates are around $55 weekends, which is good for this course. Overall, absolutely would play again.
love both courses up there, very different from each other.
i love the courses up there. ike is long and fairly open, babe is shorter and tight. always in good condition and beautiful surroundings, lots of trees and some lakes. no homes anywhere and quiet. just a little bit pricey and far away from everything to play more often.
Too many restrictions on the course & slow play
Slowing of the carts is really an annoyance Too many cart path only areas contributed to slow play. Many bare spots on the greens for an upscale course
Great value for a Golf Now Hot Deal...$40.00!
Greens in excellent shape. Don't like the golf carts that automatically shut down when you get within 20 yards of the green.
Nice but tough
The Zaharias course is not long but very challenging for the higher handicap golfer. There are many tight tee shots and long carries over water on two par threes. The course is well maintained and scenic.
Great course . . resort-like
The course is beautiful, well maintained. It does require a bit of a dial-back on club choice because of narrower fairways.
But the experience of playing the course is thoroughly pleasant.
Two demerits though:
1. The pro shop will not give you a golf cart till 10 minutes before your round. The parking lot is a bit of a hike and the driving range is not convenient for walking to with a full bag.
2. The carts are controlled by gps and slow to a crawl if you drive into a "restricted" area of the rough or too close to the green [no cart markers to warn you].
incredible!
lived in the area my whole life first time played here, what a course a little on the tight side rough is deep and thick. fairways (the few times i was in it) were pristine, the greens had been punched about 10 days earlier but were coming in nicely, putts rolled true and smooth on the fast tiered greens. course punishes you if you play poorly. keep it in play and it can be alot of fun!
Great location with stunning views of the san gabriel valley. Very challenging dog legs, so acuracy is important.
Very good course with a lot of challenges for all levels
Babe course is short, but challenging for novice players.
Excellent facilities and very friendly staff. The course must be played more than once to appreciate shot selection.
"The Babe" My favorite course to play often
This golf club has two courses, Ike and Babe. While both are great fun to play, I prefer "The Babe" Zaharias course because it is (to me) a relaxing comfortable course. If you play it from the whites most tee shots require only a 200 - 210 yard shot, the course is a bit tight so this yardage is great to leave your driver in the bag and hit some 3 or 4 irons, occasionally you can pull the driver on a more forgiving hole and bomb it for fun. A shot makers course. If you want to play longer it's there for you, just step back to the blue, or move over to the Eisenhower course. The grounds are pristine, I only have two complaints. 1.) They like to keep it slow and wet for some reason I don't understand. and 2.) they are a bit controlling with the carts via GPS and over zealous. The carts all have GPS that control where you can go and at what speed. 11Mph most times but they slow you to 2Mph at times, I think the guy who set up the speeds must be a very poor driver and set it up for his or her own capabilities. They also shut you down for driving where they don't want you, while this is a good idea; problem is GPS is not all that accurate as compared to their settings. On the first fairway of the Babe, the right side rough has a very steep slope, (they don't want you on it with the cart) all good, except the cart shuts down about five yards from the rough while still in the fairway. DUH! They have a fun looking golf cart lift after the 18th hole that I've never seen working, must be one of those California risk things that the owners don't want any part of, who knows.
Great course, great staff. Highly recommended.
One of the best public courses you will play at any price.
The cart paths need replaced!
The facility is excellent and the staff very cordial. The course requires every club in the bag and is tight as the trees are mature. The cart paths are very bumpy due to the tree roots and are in need of repair.
I live near by and love the lay out, staff is not so friendly but course is really in great shape.
the fairway is under repair, lots of walking even I hit 80% of the fairway. condition is really good from tee to green. pace of play is Ok. Staff not so friendly may be I just dress casual. I will recommend course to anyone.
Interesting and Challenging
The Ike course is a challenging 73 par course where every hole presents unique opportunities. Most notable is the length and elevation changes. You would not want to walk this course unless you really want some exercise! There are plenty of dog-legs and long holes to reward shot-making and punish stray shots. Although the trees provide some forgiveness for errant shots, the undulating fairways often produce an uneven stance and require careful club selection. October conditions featured dry fairways, but the greens were soft and receptive, even in the middle of the day. If you want to test your game, this course will do that. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
This course has great 3 pars.
Had a good time very nice good par 3's a tuff course but injoyed the Babe. shall return again thank's .
One of the best golf courses in California
Industrial Hills Golf Course is one of the best golf courses in California in terms of quality and value. Although we are not regular members , my wife and I love to play here on an irregular basis. The Ike and Babe are both in great conditions. We would recommend this course for all die-hard golfers.
