Some challenges, and very quick greens
The course is well maintained (aside from copious goose do on several tees), but the greens were pretty fast, seemed much faster than most other courses around here. All in all, I like Shoreline quite a bit for the challenges, and for the fact that I seem to play pretty well there.
Challenging coure in wind...
Overall course is showing improvement compared to 6 Months ago...definite challenge in cold/windy conditions.
Pleasantly surprised the wind did not kick up with the rain!
We had occasional rain during our round, so we were not pressed by other golfers. We did think that it was so unfair to have the pin placed on a slope between two levels on a green on the back 9. One of our group "rolled" an ankle in a squirrel hole in the fairway on the 14th, and required ice and a pitcher of beer to reduce the swelling.
Good pace of play, nice course, too many birds and droping.
A great day of golf. good pace of play. a little too much bird dropings but not as bad as it used to be. Too many environmentally 'sensitive' areas, and some construction going on but that will pass. Got a good price through golf now.
I haven't played Shoreline in a few years sho I thought I'd give it a try. This was the worst maintaine course I've ever played at in the Bay Area.
75% of the course was under construction. I was shocked. Nobody in the clubhouse even hinted that this was the case when I checked in. I will never play here again - worse golf experience I've ever had in my 25 years of playing golf
need to improve the fairway condition, soggy and lot of bald spots
good layout , just need to improve condition of the fairway
Course was sloppy
Looked like you were playing in the middle of a desert. More dirt than grass, and no one likes hitting off dirt. Played here once before, about a year ago, but won't go back. Where it looked like dry dirt, there was mud under it. Was just a real mess. Looked as if it had not been watered in weeks. Thankfully GolfNow has many other courses for me to choose from.
Used to be allright. Not now.
The condition of this course is the worst I've EVER played. I don't think I would play it for free.
Needs work!
The fairways are in bad shape. Bunkers have no sand and the course was soggy from being overly watered.
not worth playing again
This course is very average an d the draining of ponds removed some or a lot of it's former charm. Fairways were in rough condition. Greens were ok but a litle slow.
Needs improvement on overall condition
Overall design and layout is great, but the condition has deteriated over the years. It has the potential to be a top public course in the bay area with more emphasis on maintenance improvement.
A very nice Muni. A good value.
A good course for average players, the course is very walkable and not overly difficult. It DOES have some challenging and many interesting holes. I consider the whole facility (course, driving range, restaurant and pro shop) one of the best in the bay area for average players wanting to pay moderate prices. The biggest downside is the likely abundance of Canadian Geese that leave droppings on several fairways.
Nice layout but fairways are poor
The fairways have been going down hill since early summer. They were being worked on when we played.
This course has potential
This golf course if give enough tlc will be a good course.
Course Maintenence
The staff was fun and helpful, from the desk staff to the starter. The Marshal was on time and encouraging during play. I had played the course a few times before and this time it was in bad shape.
The course was either high and dry or deep and wet. The tee boxes were good and the greens were in good condition. There was construction on the back nine and some "ground under repair" areas. I will go back with a two for one deal or I get word that the fairway maintaince and construction is completed.
Worst course in the area
Lots of hardpan and lots of work going on. If you like goose droppings and ground squirrels, this is the course for you.
A nice journey along the shoreline.
It is marginally the nicer of 3 courses along the shoreline of South San Francisco Bay From Palo Alto to San Jose.
