Morris Williams Golf Course

Putting is half of the game, and bad greens mean you have a 50% chance of having a bad experience. Greens are stressed.

I'm new to Austin and have been trying out the muni courses around town, so when I saw a killer deal ($20) to Mo Willy, I said this was as good a day as any to check it out.

I'd heard some good things about the course and was excited to play it.

It was hot, but I thought that's why no one is playing the course. WRONG!

The staff was friendly, but failed to mention how really bad the greens were. Actually, there were no greens. It was a collective of dirt, mud and sand with bits of dried sod and scattered clumps of putting surface (I wouldn't call it grass) that was impossible to putt a true putt on. Of course, the course warned of a condition, it wasn't stated what it was and certainly not the extent of the damage. No grass on the putting greens and the grass alongside the fairways was so high that if you were off the fairways at all, you may not find your ball at all.

It made for a very frustrating day and I will not be going out to Mo Willy again this year and maybe never again. There's too many better courses that also offer deals with GolfNow.

Greens are shot; close to unplayable. Of course this is due to very hot temps lately. Quit after 9; combination of heat and greens. Before making a t-time call the pro-shop and ask for fair assessment of greens.

Hopefully they are on the mend. Great track though

Fairways and tee boxes are gold but greens are burned out in sports pretty bad. They are working To fix it but beware it’s pretty bad on some greens.

The course is in great shape for the heat and traffic with the exception of some greens that have had some exposed ridges and high areas burned up. Some areas on a few greens, due to traffic, have become bare. There will be 1.5 days of maintence this coming week where the course will be closed. Hopefully the grass and grees can get some rest and grow back a bit.

Pace of play yesterday, 6/1, was really bad. Stacked up to the point 4 groups were on one hole (#7). Ended up playing the front 9 twice to get 18 in after starting at 5:06 pm. The marshalls need to get on some people and help the situation. Not particularly bothered by it as the value, to me, is great.

Overall a great course and a great facility. Just please fix your divot and maybe fix a few others while you’re at it.

The price is always fair and the golf course fairways and greens are always in great shape!

Fun course to play. Nice layout. Very friendly Staff.

Greens were not perfect but very playable.

The course is coming along for summer. It is in good condition BUT just wanted to make you aware of two details.

1. The fairways have been punched. You will not get roll because there are clumps of dirt everywhere.

2. The filled in ball marks on the greens with sand. Sand spots are all over the green. I have never seen this before at any golf course.

Muni layout with three pretty cool signature holes. Greens were sanded and still growing in in a few places. Some pretty weedy rough with dallis grass on the back nine. Good clubhouse and range. Typical metro muni value.

Greens had been punched and were sanded, fairways were great would give it 2 or 3 weeks to play due to the condition of the greens

Pace of Play on Sunday was good and controlled by Marshall. Some greens has too much sandy and damaged. course layout was very good and I enjoyed some challenges.

I've played this course countless times and never grow tired of it. It's an amazingly friendly course so if you shank your drive, you'll still likely have some sort of shot up to the green. The course is in amazing condition right now and the greens are rolling well. Can't wait to get back out there!
