Mixed review
I played the marsh and cypress nines. It was a tale of two totally different conditions. Marsh was fantastic, great fast green with lush fairways. The cypress nine has spotty fairways, tee boxes in fair as best condition and the greens were horrible looking like they had been punched a week ago and not watered to allow them to grow back in. Half the course was worth the pricey fee. The other side was a 50 dollar muni course
Great day of Golf
Fairways, greens, tee boxes - were in great shape. Pace of play was too slow, and there really were not many people out there. Maybe someone on the course telling folks to speed it up would have helped.
Excellent Experience!
Drove up, guys came out to vehicle and loaded our bags on cart, let us know where everything was. Went in pro shop to check in. Friendly staff. Courteous and quick. Range was in great shape. Lots of turf to hit off of. Practice putting greens in excellent shape. Starter came and courteously asked us our name. We had a tee time at 9:10. Offered us to tee off early at 8:50. Said sure. Course conditions were fantastic. Fairways plush, greens rolled very well. Cart girl came by about every 4 holes. Marshalls all over course ensuring good pace of play and offering ice cold towels. We were two-some and played in 3:10 minutes. Just a great experience. Definitely will go back to play.
Exceptional Golf Course!!!
We played the Cypress/Marsh rotation today and the course conditions were phenomenal. Fairways were manicured and the ball sat up nicely. Rough was thick and deep. The course drains very well as we have had a couple inches in the last few days. We were the last tee time so we had no issue with the pace of play. Staff was great and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this layout to anyone wanting a superb golfing experience!
Course lies and has hidden feed
Do not play here as they tell you one price on the phone and then when you get there, it’s another price. I can’t believe playing in golf Shores Alabama would cost $170.00. There are too many courses around here to charge that much. Then they charge you a fee if you use a credit card and $10 to get range balls.. On top of that, they do not even offer any water while you are golfing or anywhere on the course. Worst club ever for $170!
Amazing course
Everything at Peninsula was great. Conditions were amazing. Great practice green and range. We went late in the afternoon so it felt like we had the course to our self. Will definitely play again next vacation
Fantastic course
Well worth the money, after our terrible round last year on vacation this place was an extremely excellent upgrade, course was in fantastic condition for mid June, really good pace of play, the rangers and starter were all great as well as the cart girls. No complaints here at all
Peninsula course. Marsh front 9, cypress back 9
Amazing course. Built on 14 ft of sand so a monsoon doesn’t even leave puddles on the course. The conditions in the pictures below are 2 hours after a 3 hr rain storm.
Amazing staff! Greens on the marsh were aerated a couple weeks ago but they look good now. Cypress greens were PERFECT. Rolled true, fast.. but you could still spin the ball how you needed to get to the tight pins.
Not worth it.
For $150 dollars I can’t believe I had to pay extra for range balls. The Cyprus 9 was I great shape, but the Lakes greens were covered in sand. It’s irritating that the practice greens were nothing like either 9 we played.
Beautiful Course
I would highly recommend this course. It was beautiful and I will definitely play again
significant difference between nines
this is a course designed around three 9 hole layouts: labelled Marsh, Lake, and Cypress; Your 18 hole round will be on 2 of the 3. The Lakes course was challenging with unexpected hidden water hazards requiring some local course knowledge; the Marsh course much wider and more forgiving. "Lakes" nine was much more interesting. Course overall in very good shape though greens a bit rough in a few places. Overall, would certainly recommend. Staff very accommodating and helpful.
We play it every year
My buddies and I just returned home from our annual beach/golf trip. We played Kiva Dunes, Peninsula, GlenLakes and Perdido Bay. Peninsula is at the top of that list. We found the back 9 pin positions at Kiva dunes to be incredibly difficult. Peninsula offered a challenge without silly pin positions Greens were in great shape.
Staff was awesome as well. We decided we would put Kiva on the back burner in the future and always play Peninsula and Perdido Bay. Will probably play Craft Farms and Lost Key next year as well.
Course in great condition!
Course was in great condition and pace of play was perfect! Fees have gone up and charging $10 extra for a bag of balls is not good. However, seems the courses in this area have all followed suit!
