Brings balls to lose and lots of them
This course is very difficult and any missed fairway could result in a lost balls. The views are beautiful with the course cut into the Hill side.
The old guy working the cart barn was rude and did not offer any customer service or offer ice to fill up or show us where it was. I went and got customer service from the guy working the check in inside the clubhouse. At the turn their was young guy working the cart barn who was a lot friendly
best in simi valley
one of the best golf course for the price today and great view.
A great Los Angeles area public course! 45 minutes from Santa Monica with no traffic.
Never pay rack rate at this course ($100 plus) , use golfnow, get a good rate and enjoy. Course is an great Dye layout, but conditions are slipping a bit. I think that's why this place gets a bad rap - people overpay to play and then are disappointed when conditions are not pristine. Yesterday I played for $18! Thanks golfnow! That is a steal for a place like this. I wouldn't pay over $50 ever to play here.
Play the White tees if you are over a single digit handicap. This is an advanced course, not for beginners. Amazing canyon views.
I love this course.
Great Fun
I had second thoughts about playing the Sky course after seeing some negative reviews. So I was a little surprised by the excellent greens, the fabulous layout and of course the spectacular surroundings.
I played really well but still managed to lose two balls. For giggles I played off the black tees which seems to be the most fun way to play the course not least because you always seem to get the best views from there.
I teed off on my own at 3.30p on a Saturday afternoon and was let through by two groups and was back in the clubhouse by 6.20p.
Can't wait to go back. A good value after 3.30p.

Ecxellent course, spectacular scenery
Always love to come back to this site! The course is challenging but great to play and has spectacular views!
Very challenging and beautiful par 3s
Second time to this course. We loved it. We will definitely go back to "Sky". For the 2nd round, we played "Shadow" . Awful course!!! I do not recommend it at all.
Sky Course is still worth it
I have been playing Lost Canyons for years and the Shadow course has definitely had a major decline. I was a little leery of going to Sky course based on some other reviews, but I had a very pleasant experience on Jul 7 2013. The course was in above average but not pristine condition - no complaints though. For those who haven't played it, the course is very challenging for all skill levels very hilly and penalizing. I played as a single in less than three hours, passing through one group and only waiting a little at the end.
The course is difficult but fun.
Unlike the Shadow Course, the Sky is a challenge, but great fun to play
this course was very nice. specially the view.
there was very good.
good playing and delicious brunch.
Bad maintainance
Course not maintained at all. If properly maintained could be a great course. Played this course three years ago and was very impressed. Now, fairways and greens are in very bad shape.
Worth a try but not for full price
DO NOT PLAY SHADOW. They don't water it and its all brown. Sky course is maintained but not as good as some other $100 per round courses. Play Sky course if you can get it for half price but I would look elsewhere if not.
Good course circling the drain
Nicknamed Lost Golf Balls. Sky Course is gun. Major elevation changes. Greens still in decent shape. But lack of money and water has left the rest of the track in poor condition.
In financial trouble and it shows.
We played the Sky course on Memorial Day for the holiday $69/play all day deal. Teed off for the 1st round at 7:30am and were looking forward to a good pace of play. It still took over 4-1/2 hrs which totally boggles the mind. We had read the reviews but having played here before, thought the course would be at least playable. WRONG!
The fairways were more weeds than grass and felt like they had a concrete base.
On one tee box, the weeds were higher than my tee. It had to have been a week since it was mowed.
The bunkers had no sand and after the 1st person hit out of one, we all decided to take a drop since it wasn't worth scratching up our clubs on all the rocks.
The greens were full of unrepaired divots and had deep groves which made reading a putt very interesting to put it mildly.
We only made it through 9 on the 2nd round since the conditions were even worse than during the 1st round. Everything dried out even more and the greens were more divots and spike marks then turf.
Would have played Sky but it was a joke. Looks like their only watering the greens. They were the only areas that didn't look like brown dirt.
Needless to say, we won't be back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I don't know if we would even play for free.
Course was in great shape
Tough pin placements on saterday but it was a good round.
need renovate!!!!
i remember it was really nice golf course but it is NOT right now.
hardly find grass in fairway.
if they try to keep grass in green, lots of golfer will be back..
Good shape, not great
Enjoyed our round but it just seems like this course could be so much better. They have pretty much let Shadow, the other course go completely brown. Sky is challenging but it is no where what this course was when it was opened. We had a nice deal of $45 to play at 3:30 and finished at 7:15. We had no one in front of us the entire round. Course is Good but could be Great.
Greens Aerated
Extremely disappointed. We booked the tee time and were given zero notice of course maintenance. The greens had just been aerated and were in terrible condition. Both Golfnow and the course should make customers aware of that before booking a tee time and accepting a fee.
We didn't know this until shortly before our tee time and were left with a choice of not playing golf or paying full price to play on awful greens.
Fun course
Course was in playable condition, decent fairways, and greens rolled fairly true even though aeration had begun. Many elevation changes make the course more challenging especially on windy days. The layout is a bit strange in that some tee boxes were difficult to locate. More signage would be helpful. Course is fun when not busy, but seems as if it could be very chaotic on busier days.
