Fun course

The layout is great and it’s definitely a placement course. You don’t need driver on most holes. Better to hit it 250 in the middle and a manageable iron in. Be reminded of the name, “Hills”. It is hilly and if you miss by a yard or two you can get an unfriendly side hilll bounce. Lots of fun, friendly staff, and the restaurant and bar is worth a visit.

Greens and Wicked

Greens are fast and super undulating. Course was fun and in good condition. The pace was pretty rough, if they sent a ranger around a couple times it would improve.

Enjoyed it

First time playing at this course, and it was worth the drive over. Greens were challenging to read and flew. Never had to wait on the group in front of us, and didn’t have anyone pushing up behind us. Enjoyed playing with the two gentlemen playing at the same time.

Great for Price!

Played on Friday morning at 8am for $45. The course wasn’t busy in the early morning. Played in 3 hours (only a twosome).

The greens were perfect! Fast and smooth, honestly some of the best I’ve seen for public courses near Atlanta. Fairways were decent, will be good by summer. Bunkers were a little rough, but crews were working on them during our entire round.

Highly recommend this if you can play early in the morning.

Great course and conditions, wish I could say the same about the staff

Myself and 2 friends (group of 3) booked a Hot Deal tee time at Ashton Hills to play on Tuesday morning. When we arrived at the pro-shop, the attendant informed us that we would be paired with another golfer (fine, no worries, we understand this is a risk of booking a group of 3 and not 4). When we asked for the cart keys, however, he would only give us one key, and informed us that the third person would need to ride with the random golfer. We were appalled at this decision -- we've booked nearly 100 rounds with 3 of us, and were never asked to ride with a stranger; normally there are just 3 carts with our group. When we attempted to request an additional cart, we were told it would cost $20. Fortunately the gentlemen we golfed with was very nice, but imagine we were paired with someone who was smoking, heavily drinking, or just not a cool dude? Better yet, when we finished our round, there was ~20 carts sitting unused, which only added insult to injury.

As the title states, great course, great conditions, but SINGLE golfers and TRIPLE groups BEWARE of this ridiculous pro-shop rule.

WAY TOOOOOOO SLOWWWWWWWWW

Staying with the facts, it took 5 hours and 25 mins. At one point we noticed 2-open holes and no one did anything to push slow play. There are too many golfers out there after COVID, Ashton Hills doesn't need slow play, have them move along or kick them off the course and give them a refund, encourage they never come back. Ashton Hills is in fantastic shape, best public green surfaces in metro Atlanta. I get it's not going to be 4-hours on a Saturday but 5 hours and 25 mins is absurd. By paying the green fee we expect club management will push slow play. If not that's OK, just tell us before we book to play we should expect 5+ hour rounds.

All around excellent experience!

Played this course today paired with a lovely couple from out of state, so it was everyone’s first time playing. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the course was beautiful and in great condition. Not the easiest courses but every hole was within reason and I felt as thought it was great value for our money. Excellent experience all around.
