About
Monroe's Bear Creek Golf Club is situated in the heart of Walton County. It's less than an hour from Atlanta, making it a conveniently close getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The course originally opened in 1990 but in 2008 it changed ownership and underwent a major renovation that elevated its conditions to rival that of any of the area's best golf courses. The bunkers were rebuilt and re-sanded and the fairways were re-conditioned. Bear Creek G.C. has always been known for its excellent greens, which have a reputation for being some of the state's finest putting surfaces. The layout measures 6,585 yards from the back tees, which may seem short but there are some ups and downs throughout that will make it feel much longer.

Nice layout
Lovely piece of property, nice layout. If they had money to put into maintenance it could be special. Cart paths are terrible. We knew what to expect based on the greens fee. Other golfers were enjoying themselves as were we and personnel were very friendly.
Bear Creek
Extremely slow and backed-up at first tee,we were sent to back nine, no problems steady pace of play. Carts were dirty and old. Range balls were not available, card reader was not working. No hot dogs or buns. When we returned to finish our round on the front nine,45 minute wait. Very slow play, a father and son were playing,son 10-12 years old.Father was instructing son, two foursomes waiting while son took 20 swings at teed up golf ball;not appropriate for weekend play. Greens were ok but rest of course needs attention.
Overall, good course
The cart paths needs some work, however, overall value for the money it’s worth it.

The greens condition was very good and well kept.
Fairways were good, too but the cart path wasn’t terrible.
But we’ve enjoyed the rounding

The only was the greens. Pace was slow, Hard as a brick fairways, scorecard did not match up to the holes, number 13 did not exist and cart paths were pretty much disintegrated. Practice putting green was good!
Nice course too crowded
This course has continued to improve overall. It's about the 3rd time Ive come and couldn't use the range. I came 45 mins early for that reason. I stopped coming to this course because it didn't have a range, now that it does, it would be great if it was open before my round so I can get loose. Old dudes need that.
And the course was very backed up.
Bear Creek
Haven't played Bear Creek in a while and it appears they are working on some layout changes. Course was in good condition, Cart paths need some love. There are a few blind tee shots that were challenging.$43 was a good deal for this good course. Will play again .
GREEN GREENS
The greens on this course were in great condition for this time of year. However, a number of the cart paths on this course are kidney busters in dire need of replacement.
Average
The golf Course needs some tlc, the cart paths also need repairing. No map of the course etc
