Ashton Hills Golf Club

I have played 5 star golf courses all over the world and I have to tell you....pound-for-pound this is one of the best golf courses I have ever played. I live in Buckhead yet make the drive every weekend I am in town. Beautiful layout, amazing greens and sneaky tough. I play the tips and it is all I want back there. You must put the ball in the right spot off the tee on most holes and stay below the hole on your approaches or you are staring down the barrel-of-a-bogey!! Ashton Hills is truly a wonderful experience. My ONLY complaint is the back tees on some holes are a bit rugged. They could just use a little TLC I think. That's it!!

We arrived early and took advantage of the practice tee and greens. They were in very nice shape. The gentlemen in the pro shot was very helpful as were the food and beverage folks!

There was an "outing" in front of us and the front 9 went very slowly. It did allow us to take our time and focus on our shots. The course was in EXCELLENT shape - especially considering how dry it's been lately. The course is pretty narrow at spots and it always challenging for a golfer like myself.

We had a great time, highly recommend the course and hope to return again.

Web site needs to be changed, I read in their own literature that greens were changed to Bermuda just last year.

Tucked out a little ways from the city but glad I took the drive. Nice strategic course in good condition. excellent greens ran firm and true.

Good greens and tight fairways course in good shape

Course is in great shape. Fun to play. Tight and challenging but fair. Greens showed faint evidence of being punched a few weeks ago, but speed was consistently quick and rolled true. Overall a fantastic track. You won't be disappointed. Only wish I lived closer.

The course was in excellent conditions for this time of the Summer. The greens are VERY fast with hard pin placements but an overall achievable course. You get a lot of course for a little money. Entertaining course with many sand traps and tough holes. I would play here more if i lived in the area.

The greens were recently aerified, so hard to just based on that. Rest of course was in good condition.

Good pace of play, friendly staff, greens had just been aerated so they were not great but this is not the norm for the course.

Met a buddy for an early tee time which in the Georgia summer can be brutally hot. The course was in great condition with the exception of a few greens with issues around the fringe. Otherwise they rolled true at a medium speed. the fairways are like low pile carpet and perfect for hitting off of. Tee boxes were in good shape. Had a great round of golf and I really enjoy the layout of the course. They always have us tee off on 10 for some reason. We were the first tee time which I always prefer. Played the entire round in right at 3 hours and were done before he heat of the day set in. Perfect round of golf.

In fact, they may be the fastest for any private course.

In town for business and decided to give Ashton a go and so glad I did. The course layout is breath taking and in excellent condition. It rained both days that I played and was cart path only but even still it was an awesome experience. Tee box to green was as good as it gets. Challenging and multi level greens make you really pick your shots carefully. One of the guys I played with holed out a par 3 over a pond and the members rolled out the red carpet back at the club house for him. He even received standing ovation from some of residents on the course who witnessed it. The food and beverage was outstanding as well. Ashton has made from what we were told many course Improvements and they were well worth it from what we could tell. This club could be a private club easly but the members we met said that they want everybody to experience this course. So glad we went and will absolutely be back. Thank you Ashton for making our business trip one we will never forget. If you are ever in town or close by I highly recommend you play this course. You won't regret it.

Great layout!!! Hole #14 is a tough driving hole. Greens were nice and rolled good. Drove from Lawrenceville to play this course this course.

play the course all the time and is always the best course around for the price. other local courses not as nice cost twice as much. this is the bst course around Covington. Greens are well kept and true. Faiways are in great shape. Course is challenging but still fun to play

This is the best condition I've seen this course in the last 10 years. Greens ran true, fairways and tee boxes were plush, and the staff was very friendly. This is definitely a hidden gem southeast of Atlanta

Are you tired of going to a beautiful course, hitting a beautiful drive on a beautiful fairway, just to see your approach shot land on the worst green ever. Well here at Ashton Hills they take pride in keeping their greens up to par. Or bogey. (However you tend to shoot.) Spending money to play on ruff greens can be the biggest buzz kill in golf for a true player. Don't let the greens drag your golf game. So if you are from Covington or just visiting, come to THE best course in a 30 min radius.

My first time playing this course was on Saturday, 6/6 and I decided to play again on Sunday. This is a great course. The layout is challenging and the course was in fantastic shape. The greens were fast but true .

Service was excellent

Everything was in good shape including the fairways, tee boxes and greens (slightly on the slow side but rolled true).
The greens were well protected either by elevation or plenty of sand.
The par 5's were obtainable in two and fun to play.

Course and greens are in great shape...You use just about every club in your bag playing this course the smart way..don't have to hit driver every hole.
