Lakes of Taylor Golf Club

I paid for 18 holes of golf, only able to play 9 holes due to back 9 was unplayable do to weather.

The course is an Arthur Hills design. Challenging fairways and good rolling greens. Very challenging you have to hit the fairways to score well. As all Arthur Hills courses you don’t get flat Lies so you have too Watch how the ball lies. The roughs are thick and not to high but they can punish you if you land in it. The pace of play is 4.5 to 5 hour for 18 holes. The staff is very Polite and the food is good. It is a go to place to play I do recommend everyone to come and try the course. By Howard Hill

Great course, a challenging front 9 alittle more forgiveness on the back 9, course was in great shape.The greens were recently aerated and top coated which made putting unbearable. we still enjoyed our round none the less. Staff was so, they seemed somewhat bothered with having to interact with guests. The ranger stacked the course and made all tee times into foursomes and sent us off 30 minutes early which I wouldn't have minded if I was asked but I was told which didn’t sit quite right to me especially due to having no one behind us the entire round, but having to wait at every hole. Other than that it’s a must play downriver.

Car got broken into while I was playing 18 from 11am-2pm. Reports that car break-ins have been occurring here frequently. My rear window was smashed out and personal items stolen from car. Needs to be some sort of security monitoring the parking lot if this is the case!! And no cameras for a state of the art golf course?! Very disappointed and turned away from coming back now.

Course layout is nice and challenging but unfortunately played after they plugged the greens and didn't use enough sand to make putting remotely possible...every putt bumped so violently that it was almost useless which took away from round...unfortunately it's that time of year for plugging but they didn't do it well.

Would play course again next season under better circumstances.

This course is a “Must Play” for anyone in the downriver area. Fairways, greens and layout of the course were impressive!

nice course to play. had to do 90 degrees since it was still a little wet from night before I guess. pace of play was slow with no ranger out there. some of the car path needs work done to it

We saw this on a list of top metro Detroit courses and made the trip to see for ourselves. It was a weekday afternoon so pace of play was quick because there were so few people out there. It’s a nice layout with a lot of interesting holes and it’s very well maintained. The only negative was that the greens were fairly beaten up and there weren’t any holes that were all that unique. Best downriver, clearly but I don’t think it warrants being on a list of best in metro Detroit.

A group of golfers and myself took to this course for a mid day golf session. The course staff was not pleasant to interact with. We were told multiple times that this course is for experienced golfers only. As a couple young professionals developing a golf habit, the un-hospitable nature will make it so we do not return.

I grew up playing this course, and worked at it when it first opened. I haven’t played it in several years. The course condition is very poor. The fairways are just a shorter version of the rough, and over grown with weeds. Surprised they let it get to this condition. The pace of place was good for a Sunday afternoon and the staff was nice.

Lakes of Taylor is a very nice course except for the bunker. They need to add sand so they are playable.

Some tight holes, but a very fun course. Combine that with greens that rolled consistent and true, and this was a great course for the money!
