About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Nice course
Nice course for a new season start, guy at the shop was very nice, carts were clean. I will come back when the fairways are greener in the summer
Rock hard burnt out brown fairways
If you like playing on a surface as close to rock as you can get then this course is for you! I realize it’s February but I didn’t expect EVERY fairway to be brown… tee boxes were semi green and the greens themselves were green but EVERY fairway was brown dead grass. The back nine is actually a nice layout but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this course.
Great value municipal
Fairways were extremely firm, most of them were spotty. Plenty of dead spots. Greens were all above my expectation for February golf.
Good deal for the price, but nicer courses are out there. An Austin classic! Would definitely come back.
It's been 2 years
Greens were in great shape for the time of year. Regular rate of 40.00 is way too much for this course
Worst I have seen. The grass was so dry and non existent that the ball rolled forever.
Worst corse I have played on for a public course.
Barely tolerable. Maybe its the time if the year.
Course is in terrible shape
Worst conditions I’ve ever seen, 1/3 back nine flooded and pace of play was ridiculous and no one ever drives the golf course to maintain pace of play either.
