About
The public 18-hole layout, formerly known as the Austin Country Club, was designed by renowned architects, J. Press and Perry Maxwell. It served as teaching grounds for Harvey Penick, as well as Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw.
Riverside Golf Course challenges and delights players of all skill levels with its mature trees and scenic water hazards. Its convenient location, five minutes from downtown Austin and 10 minutes from the airport, makes it a serene escape without having to leave the city.
Getting there : From Austin, take IH-35 south to Riverside Drive. Go east on Riverside Drive 2.2 miles to Grove Blvd. and turn left. The course entrance is to the left before the community college.

Totally Suggest Riverside!
Great course for the price and is challenging enough & fun for a public muni. This a good spot for a round with your boys (or girls) if you’re just looking to get out and play, have some beers in the sun, etc. Also, everyone that works at this course is also extremely chill and cool.I lived in Austin for 7 years and probably played this course at least 10 times every summer.
Fun
Riverside is fun to play and there are some tough holes on the course. Since weather has been unpredictable lately I'm sure that's why a few fairways had some bad spots. The course is still in good condition and greens were still in good condition so I still had fun playing there.
Nice greens
Greens in good condition. Friendly staff and nice putting green . I will be back soon .
Lots of fun and really friendly
First time playing here and really had fun. Friendliest clubhouse staff in Austin—and there are.several friendly ones in other courses. Not a golf-bougie crowd either. The course condition isn’t country club level but if you want to enjoy the day, the people and a well-planned course, this one is hard to beat.
Nice course
Nice course for a new season start, guy at the shop was very nice, carts were clean. I will come back when the fairways are greener in the summer
Rock hard burnt out brown fairways
If you like playing on a surface as close to rock as you can get then this course is for you! I realize it’s February but I didn’t expect EVERY fairway to be brown… tee boxes were semi green and the greens themselves were green but EVERY fairway was brown dead grass. The back nine is actually a nice layout but I certainly wouldn’t recommend this course.
Great value municipal
Fairways were extremely firm, most of them were spotty. Plenty of dead spots. Greens were all above my expectation for February golf.
Good deal for the price, but nicer courses are out there. An Austin classic! Would definitely come back.
