Needs work
The bunkers were hard, no sand. Lost many balls in the rough within 5 feet of the greens. Dirt patches and grass growing on the greens. The fairways were ok.
Never seen a course in worse shape
The course was nearly unplayable. Every green was covered in a significant amount of dirt. The parts that didn't have dirt looked like they hadn't been mowed in weeks.
Tee shots hit anywhere besides dead-middle of the fairway were almost always lost. The grass clearly had not been mowed.
The city has really let this course go. Would be surprised if it's around too much longer.
We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience you had before. I'd strongly urge you to come see the transformation we've undergone since Austin Community College took us back over in November 2015. We think you'd be pleasantly surprised!
not good
The course is in terrible shape. It's hard to put into words how awful the greens are right now. Most holes they can't move the pin because there is nowhere else to put it. Also, the rough is crazy high. Nothing wrong with some rough but this isn't normal.

Grass was so high spent most of the time looking for balls.
Needs a lot of work and greens were non existant and spotty at best. Went straight from nine to ten without a chance for a stop. Staff was very friendly .

Not worth it for the price
Made it through 12 holes in 4 hours. The greens were mostly sand.

badly Maintain
Most of the green were bad with bare spots all over If you hit your ball a foot off the fairway you could forget finding your ball as it was lost in grass 6 to 8" i used tio play this course all the time but was the first playing it this year but from the looks of the course i would say it should just close because i will never play it again & i feel like they should have paid me to play it

Riverside needs some work
Most greens were hard as a rock and had some amount of sand and weeds covering them. The rough grass was so long and unkept it was almost impossible to find your ball.

Great Course Value
Enjoy playing the course every time I get out. The amount of money spent to play is idea for me. An excellent value for a novice player.
Great course but...
The course itself is great. This was my first time playing here and we found a deal online to play the course for cheap.
Problems: there is an apartment complex that had a pool party, it felt like the pool party was right on the course, the DJ was loud and annoying especially if you are trying to concentrate to hit a golf ball.
There is no marshal, so a normal 4 hour 18 hole round turned into 6 hours. We had to wait for the players in front of us for a long stretch of time. We wanted to go around but found that they were waiting on other people and it was like that for a a lot of groups.
Fun course
Great greens but they need to mow the rough down so you have a better chance of finding your ball. Otherwise it is a fun track.
Riverside
Course in horrible shape and we had an 8-some in front of us.

Condition of course
The weather was perfect and the pace of play was very good. Probably not getting much play due to the condition of the course. Fairways, greens and bunkers are in terrible shape. Would not have gone there if I had known how bad the course was. Needs a lot of work. I did leave a club by a green which was turned in and the gentleman in the pro shop called me promptly to let me know he had it. I appreciated that.
Horrible Experience
The course's range consists of 4 mats and a net 5 yards in front. The greens were in awful condition; half of the green was sand or dirt. Sand traps were literally dirt. Absolutely no sand. The course was full of only hacks who were extremely rude. Pace of play was absolutely terrible. If we hadn't played though 5 groups it would have taken us 6 hours to finish the round (no joke). All this and we paid $30 to play at 12:45. Will never play there again, even if someone were to pay me to. DO NOT GO.

Course has gone downhill
We were surprised at the condition of the course. In has gone downhill considerably in the past two years. The greens were in terrible shape with bare spots and stones on some. The fairways were indistinguishable from the rough. The sand traps were also terrible. They seemed to have dirt in them not sant. On one hole there was a sprinklerr head that was gushing water ($$$$$$!!!!) and had created a stream in the fairway. We played on a weekend and we saw a seven-some tee off of a hole ahead of us!! Our foursome won't play there again till things improve.

This a nice challenging choose.
Always fun to play this course, you can score well. Greens are always good.
Disappointed
If for no other reason than the history, I always hope that this golf course will be better, but it seems stuck in sub-par mode and that's not golf terminology. Yes it is an older course and that's fine. Most of the greens are pretty guarded, which is great and challenging, but if you end up in a bunker you are playing out of concrete mix or mud. The greens rolled good where there was grass but almost all of them had large patches of nothing and just sours what is good. If there is a greenskeeper, they need to step it up. I think this could be a great course with some attention, but you can't neglect it forever and expect any traffic.

Windy, breezy, typhoon
Great day temperature wise, and the pace of play surprisingly great. Fairways were pretty good, but the greens were not. But due to drought, they get a pass. Love the layout, and will go back again soon.
