About
Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.
The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.
No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.
Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Don’t know why I don’t play here more.
Played here about two years ago and then never came back. And don’t know why. Course was not over booked pace of play was perfect. Greens for winter conditions and post Texas blizzard were great and attention to maintenance on course was evident. I love playing in Austin over Houston because of the topography and this course does not have the vistas that some in Austin do but the course holds my interest and challenged me. Overall great value for money, course layout very good, pace of play was spot on and I recommend this course and it will not be two years before I come back!

Double charged
I made my reservation and paid the green fee at the course. Play was fine but there is zero reason to charge $70+ for these conditions and layout, especially this time of year.
The next morning I received an email from GolfNow stating that I was a no-show and the course had requested to collect from me. I've reached out to both GolfNow and Avery Ranch with zero resonse so far.
The course is overpriced and now you're charging people double? I will never play here again.

Greens amazing
Great day on the ranch. Always busy now but still good pace. End of round people get tired and slows a bit but no issues. Greens were double cut and the best I'd played in the area and I play alot. even after the rain, course held up well, Growing in nicely and soon should be nice and green.

Timeless classic golf course......but?
This is a terrific classic track and I always enjoy playing it. One simple change would make it even better. Not every golfer that plays Avery carries a range finder. For those that don't have to play Easter egg hunting to find yardage markers on the fairway.....not fun! Simple cheap solution.....place zebra stakes at 150 yards. It's a great aiming visual from the tee, and anyone can extrapolate their distance to the green from that stake. Think about it decision makers!

Avery Ranch GC
Love this course. It gets a lot of play so sometimes the greens can be less then perfect. But no fault of maintenance. Between golfers not repairing ball marks & the deer walking on them, they see some action. The staff is friendly and attentive and the layout is great. Especially enjoy the back 9. The front 9 can be a bit more challenging. Good practice facilities. My only concern is the putting green next to the driving range is closed 75% of the time. Why?

Course was in good shape except for bunkers as they were very hard and packed down. Also no rakes so many footprints and marks in the bunkers. There was a crew out on the course filling sand in on one of the holes so hopefully they all get attention and bunker play becomes more consistent and in tune with normal playing conditions.
