About
Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.
The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.
No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.
Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Tee times are only a suggestjon
Reserved tee time for 12:45 and asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Checked in at noon and told tee time pushed to 1:08. Went to the starter's booth at 1:00 and told that my tee time was pushed to 1:30. The starter was very nice and paired me with a threesom scheduled for 1:12. So it mostly worked out, but still annoyed they kept pushing my tee time after taking my money. This time of year with the early sunset, it means you are guaranteed not to be able to play all the holes you paid for. If I knew this was going to be the case, I wouldn't have made the tee time.
I was also following a group playing from the black tees who had no business playing from there. No Marshall to encourage them to play from a more forward tee, so had to wait for them on every hole. Overall I don't think I'll be return

In Good Shape
Thanksgiving Day round. Lots of tee shots requiring a carry across a gap. Fairways and greens in good shape. Tee boxes on 18 are now full grass - no more sand! No complaints.

Cold day turned out great
Haven't played this course much but this is the 2nd time this year I have played it and it was one of my best rounds there. the day started out kinda cold but warmed up quickly. Wish they would open up bar for seating though as it had gotten too cold to sit outside for my after game brewski.

Great value!
First time playing Avery Ranch and was extremely happy with the course conditions, the layout, and for the most part, the speed of play. I was able to pay $52 through Golf Now for the round + cart and felt like that was a great rate for the quality of the course. The greens are FAST, but are in GREAT condition. Loved all the bunkers dotting the landscape and the challenging holes. The only hole I was a little confused about was on the short par 3 on the back. It’s only 69 yards from the green tees which seemed a bit silly. Overall, GREAT course and I can’t wait to play again.

Man this is a 5 star course
I've played the last 2 rounds here and both times, NO RANGE. The first time, there simply weren't enough balls, so I stood by for 45 minutes and hit 5 of my $13 bucket before the round. Today, range is closed for "clean picking'". I get it; this stuff has to be done.
Course is in impressive shape. Laid out nicely and reasonably 'gettable'.
I'm only whining a bit. I need my warm up. But, I'll be back.
