Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.

The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.

No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.

Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Nice course

Course in great condition! Pace of play very fast good if you know the course but not great if your playing there for the first time. A little pricy $16 for a large. I let of balls on the range. $150 for 2 golfers. Enjoyed but may be looking for an easier layout next round

The greens and fairways are always in great condition.. But you really want to stay out of the sand traps as there are a lot of rocks and they are usually pretty firm. It would be really great if they would put fine grain sand in the traps and keep them soft. I put them in the same category as waste bunkers, but I don't think they are considered that. I always enjoy playing there and the people i get paired with are usually very friendly..

Not worth it anymore - horrible pace of play

6.5 hour round on Friday teeing off at 1:30pm. It gets slower and slower every time I play. Clearly they value cramming as many people on over enjoyable pace of play.

They need to raise their prices, enforce pace of play rules (hire a Marshall for $30/hour), or simply spread out tee times to every 15 minutes.

Won’t be coming back when there are other courses to play for similar $$ nearly 2x as fast.

have had the same issue at Avery and Terravista 5+ hours rounds when ever time you tee off, last round at Avery was nearly 6 hours, too many folks play the wrong set of tees @ Avery with the forced carried

Beautiful golf course, the greens could be better lots of ball marks because people don’t fix them. Otherwise the course is in great condition

Great course, worth the money

I’ve been to Avery Ranch twice now, and both times it was a great course to play. Paid about $40 for a twilight round which was definitely worth it. Tee boxes, fairways & greens were in good condition. The only issue is pace of play. By about hole 16-17 (technically holes 7-8 since we started on 10), there were three groups backed up waiting to tee off. I think putting a Marshall out in the last couple holes would be ideal so people aren’t skipping others hoping to play the last two holes while there’s still daylight. Other than that, great layout!

Still a Favorite

Haven’t played Avery in a year or two, so was pleasantly surprised to see it’s still as good as ever. Challenging layout across beautiful property. A great mix of holes, and I was constantly telling my buddy “ooh, here comes another great hole”. Looking forward to playing again sooner than later
