About
Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.
The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.
No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.
Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Great course super long wait times at tee boxes
Super super super super slow pace of play. Wish there was a Marshall on the course.
Slow play
Slow slow play always. No marshall its always the same!!
Beautiful course.
Great tee boxes, fairways. Green in great condition but rolled pretty slow.
Long and challenging.
Still a Favorite
Haven’t played Avery in a year or two, so was pleasantly surprised to see it’s still as good as ever. Challenging layout across beautiful property. A great mix of holes, and I was constantly telling my buddy “ooh, here comes another great hole”. Looking forward to playing again sooner than later
Horrible customer service
Course is not worth the money. Staff is awful to deal with and lack customer service skills. Wouldn't give me my own cart tried to force me to play with somebody I didn't know so if you want COVID-19 play Avery Ranch! I guess golf is above the social distancing rule.
Great course
Even with all the heat the course is in great shape.
Played this past weekend and it was really a joy. We found out that they rented some more carts for players to get single carts. Unfortunately, they are charging for the extra cart access but well worth it so I don't have to ride with a stranger.
Great course
We had a great time, the course is in perfect condition, only the bunker are not to well as they can't have rakes out there because of covit. It was an awesome round and the concession cart lady was great.
Interesting course
The course was in great condition. Pace of play was good for a holiday weekend--we seldom had to wait to hit and were not pressed from behind. The back nine has an interesting layout with 3 par 3's, 3. par 4's and 3 par 5's. The practice areas are convenient to the clubhouse and first tee. I will certainly play the course again.
Great 4th of July Round!
Course was in great shape. Pace was a little slower than usual.l as we waited in a couple holes. I think we finished in 4 hours 35 minutes which was okay for my wife and I. But overall we had a great time. Wish they had water coolers out. It got hot!!
Great start to 4th of July Weekend!
Played Avery this morning and it was in great shape. Pace was a hair over 4 hours which was nice as we had afternoon plans. If you haven't tried their top tracer you need to. Pretty cool stuff!
Golf now has lost its mojo
Avery ranch was great. Booked through golf now for a foursome. One of the four had to cancel. I told front desk this, they were very understanding . Then a few days later my credit card gets charged for a no show.
Golf now this transaction was a disgrace. Guy who couldn’t show was at doctors testing positive for COVID 19. Refund my money please.
