About
Avery Ranch Golf Club is a part of the Avery Ranch residential community, 20 minutes northwest of town, that was carved and blasted out of the rocky ranchlands along Brushy Creek. This historically significant area was once home to Indians and robbers, who were drawn to this beautiful setting thick with dense oaks, meandering creeks and abundant wildlife.
The golf course was designed by former Jack Nicklaus designer Andy Raugust, who literally had to use dynamite to blast rock out of the landscape for five holes. His design features two potential signature holes on each nine.
No. 7 doglegs left, and features two scenic carries -- one off the tee and another on the approach. The hole is rather short, providing the chance to be in good position for this most spectacular approach shot on the golf course. Staring at the multi-level green, you’ll notice the huge rock wall fronting the green, the large bunker to the right, and the native cacti to the rear.
Avery Ranch Golf Club's 13th is sure to be considered one of the best par 3s in the Austin area. The 161-yard par 3 features water on the right side, impressive, towering oaks in the back, and a unique ridge of rocks to the right of the green. The reasonable distance makes it a fun challenge, and the hole features a bail out area in case of a miss

Won’t come back.
I show up 1 hr early to check in and grab a bite at the club house. And im told I have to partner up with someone on a cart. Im alone and 4hrs with a stranger in a cart ruins a round. So they tell me its $20 on top of the $18 already they charged for a cart. So I say fine whatever. I go order some food, cook has to be reminded twice to start cooking my order. 40 mins later I get my food that they said it would take 10 mins. So I eat fast and go to tee off. Im waiting for my group to go and I ask 2 other guys, “Hey did you pay $20 for a cart since you are single. Both said no! The single in my group also didn’t pay. Course was good, I had fun. But when they nickle and dime like that when there were 10-15 unused carts when I started and when I got back. Doesn’t sit well with me. Went to play there because it was the only course in the Magnolia Membership, glad I went. I wont be getting that membership. $20 cost them $400 a month and $1500 initiation fee.
A good Tuesday
I've played here before and will play here again, always a fun, challenging day. Golf shop staff always professional and pleasant. F&B gals behind the bar, on point and Brook makes a mean spicy bloody mary! Overall a good place to play. In my personal opinion there are 2-3 holes i don't like/understand but have changed my approach to these holes to try and score better.

Worth it!
Great course all around! Fairways and greens were nice! One of the more challenging courses I’ve played lately. Will definitely play again.

It was a warm hot day. But Avery Ranch was still a cool drink. Challenging and enjoyable at the same time.

Slooooow
We’ve played here 2 times this past year… or should I say tried to play once and finished the round another. The first time we left because we playing at a 6+ hour pace and left. Our second round there we played in over 5. It’s painful. The course is kept in good condition. Layout is okay. Love the front but they were obviously running out of space when making the back. For the price it’s certainly not with it

Couldn’t play due to Covid.
I tested positive for Covid, tried cancelling but could not due to being slightly within the 24 hour window. I called the Avery Ranch pro shop to make them aware and was told the cancellation would have to be done on the Golf Now side. Please reimburse me for the round I was charged for due to circumstances that were beyond my control.
