Challenging back nine.
Fun course front nine is a average nine back makes you use all of your game.
Great Scenery
The course was closet to Gatlinburg for where we were staying and for the price was great. The staff was incredibly polite. The greens were soft and s were the fairways due to all the rain recently and during the round. The pace of play was very slow due to a foursome in front of 4 pairs. Also the bugs were atrocious. Make sure to take a can of OFF!
Never so Disappointed
We have been coming to Bent Creek Golf Course for over 30 years. It has been a couple of years since we have been and the last time we were here I asked what was going on with less maintenance to the course. They informed me that new management had taken over and they were going to put money back in the course. Well that certainly did not happen. I have never seen so many bursted water lines with water running on the course as well as the greens. Fairways , tees were terrible and greens were not at all good. When I called in to get a tee time I asked about the quality of the course and the man lied and said that is was excellent. The cart paths are busted up so bad that I drove off of them as much as possible. This was my last visit to Bent Creek Golf Course. This was a huge dissapointment.
the course has small tight fairways
not a lot of grass in fairways weeds in the rough course wet around greens. bad swarms of gnats.
Renovation
The course really needs some work. They only had the distance marked on a couple of holes. Had some dead spots on some of the greens. The greens were a little hard. Not worth 55 dollars. The one good thing about it is I only payed 17 dollars using the golf now app.
Nice Greens. Not So Nice Fairways
Beautiful scenery. Wonderful hills and holes of varying difficulty. Used a good portion of my bag. Some holes require smart golf where others are just grip and rip.
Great course.
I was pleasantly surprised with this course. It had some interesting and unusual holes and an absolutely beautiful location. Except for the gnats I thoroughly enjoyed it. Look forward to another trip there.
best course through mountains
If looking for a great course through the mountains this is the one. The staff was excellent and friendly. Front nine stays wet, but greens we're in excellent condition as well as fairways. The back nine is breathtaking, my favorite course near gatlinburg. Want Miss this course anytime I'm up that way.
Has Nice Layout, BUT
Right out of the gate, upon arrival Pro Shop decides to charge a 16$ Rider fee. Which is on top of my already paid booking/Green Fee. This is totally absurd and they were nasty about it. I was a single and not paired, that seat was open anyway and she didn't get her own cart. Course itself was fun, but badly in need of Maintenance and NOT worthy of steep fee they charge. There was a sewage/dead animal smell that permeated the front 9. Back 9 totally different and #11 is totally unfair to anyone over a 2 HNCP. But otherwise enjoyable. There was a fungus on some greens and they were Bent Grass slow. Not sure I would return, maybe they only want a 1 time play, it sure seems like it. DO BRING PLENTY of balls, although you will probably find double what you lose, I did.
Nice weather saved us
This course has a good layout but everything this lots of work, from the pro shop to the fairways, to the greens.
Nice deal
The wife and I had a great time there, well worth the price
Better bring lots of balls
The course was challenging having never played there before. Holes were not that long but there were blind holes where we had no idea what to hit or where to hit. The score card did however give good advise about what to expect on each hole.
Can't wait to play again but probably months from now and expect to do much better. Lost lots of balls, my wife mostly, water everywhere. Great views of mountains around. With golf now we got a hot deal and only paid $40 total for both of us.
At the end of the round ask for discount on next round and you can play for $20 each.
Wonderful experience!!!
Short but challenging.
Read the notes on the scorecard. Many of the holes have drivable hazards. It is a players course if you take what the course will give you. Take plenty of balls if you don't heed my advice.
Needs some better maintenance but interesting layout
course was wet so cart path only. Not in very good shape. Greens very slow. Back nine much better than front. More interesting and more scenic. Weak good price so worth money but not worth regular rate.
not worth the price
It was worth the price we paid thru Golf Now but not the 40 bucks we would have paid. Greens are terrible. Way to much Po??? Staff was super friendly Though.
fun weekend
This was my first outing at the Bent Creek course and I enjoyed the experience. There had been alot of rain leading up to our golf date. The greens were in need of grooming in my opinion. Staff were courteous. I would play here again. Hole #11 was one of the most challenging I have ever played.
Great shape and great views!
I was hoping to play a round of golf in March, having endured a very cold winter in NE Ohio. Staying in Gatlinburg and not wanting to go far to play, I found Bent Creek to be a terrific course, great views, great value, and super condition for this time of year. The staff of one fine young man was very accommodating and paired with me two older gents with local knowledge. Needless to say, i enjoyed golfing in the Smokies!
Greens still suffering from winter
Greens are in very poor condition from winter, bumpy and devoid of grass in many spots. All grass is still dormant. Front nine crosses over a busy road several times, esp from back tees. Smallest track of land for nine holes I have ever played. Back nine is more interesting but funky. Forced layups due to blind shots. Stayed on property but wouldn't play it again in this condition.
Still early
This early in the season, Course was in fair condition, but I suspect it will get better as summer approaches. Fairways were wet/soft and greens were slow. Front 9 was more flat and open, with back 9 more hilly and more blind shots (course knowledge/management a plus!). Overall a fun course to play.
Great views
Played on a really wet day so fairways were swampy. Greens were a little rough of the front side, but the views on the back 9 made up for it. Workers were really helpful and friendly. Would play this course again on a dryer day. Front was really open and back tightened up a bit. Overall decent course for the money I paid.
