Fun Course
Played a round here while on vacation. Challenging course, but nothing crazy. Would play here again.
Great layout
Course was in great shape. All bunkers are still gur due to flooding damage from Helene. The snack shack was closed after being told it was open. Not a big deal but you don’t return to club house until 18. Pace of place was awful, almost 5 1/2hrs for the round. Usually one of my favorite courses but pace of play and pin placements made for a disappointment. All pins were within 7-10’ from edge of the greens.
Great Course
Upgrades are amazing what they have done just in the past year. Must play and put in the rotation.
Good time
Course is dormant, but still fun to play. Couple holes having some renovation, but overall good condition for this time of year.
Once great course now an expensive police state
This place changed ownership and names and apparently that doubled the price. Even the discount rate is more than most courses normal fees.
They practically patted us down and looked through all of our things, policed the par 3s so you couldn’t take a mulligan, and the greens are barely hanging on. Several repairs underway and the guys working there seem to think they’re police.
Used to be a great course but I’ll never go back.
Okay, not great
For the rave this place brings, being #2 in the state, as they claim. It’s awesome as a link course, but for the price- the overall shape of the place- every second hole had something in repair- cart path was rough, some bunkers didn’t have sand- and it was overly priced for what the course offered. The pro shop amenities were great. Personally, I’d prefer a crossville course, say stonehenge.
The Greens Need a Trim
I love this course. However, on this February day, the zoysia greens were soooo shaggy. Not sure why. Made putting extremely disappointing to have to hit it that hard. And it detracted from an otherwise fun round on a beautiful day.
Real Nice
Used to play at Patriot Hills and Island Pointe on my vacations to Pigeon Forge. Patriot Hills is a nice course with very good green, etc., and you can walk, but Island Pointe's greens and fairways are just too good to not play. Friendly and helpful staff. Continues to get better and better.
nice course good people
great place to play good value you nwill have fun playing there
Definitely a favorite
Was challenging but scored well for my mid level handicap. My wife loved the course and had the best round of her life. The greens and fairways were in great shape. I would definitely play it again and is now my favorite course in the area. The rates were good and everyone was super nice and helpful.
Little rough around the edges, but fun layout
Overall a fun, challenging layout with good conditions despite the summer weather they were experiencing. Some of the course is surrounded by the French Broad River, which makes for some interesting holes. Some of the fringes of the course looked like it had suffered some flood damage recently, which affected some of the fringes of cart paths and fairways. The halfway house and bathrooms could use a major refreshing as they were pretty old and and dilapidated. But detracts little from the solid, fun layout and strong value this course offers. Would play here again if in the area.
A pro caliber layout
This course is so fun, difficult, testing, and challenging! To me it’s one of the few pro caliber courses in east TN. And to maintain this bohemeth is miraculous considering its public! You may hate it because it’s an A-game venue in my opinion!
Dan,
We haven't seen you since 2022. During that time, we've made many improvements to our facilities and golf course, however the ownership has remained the same for the past 16 years. We changed the name to honor an employee who had worked at the course since it opened and has since retired. Island Pointe is the name of hole 15, and it is their favorite hole on the course, hence our new name.
Our golf course is in fantastic shape! In fact, our mini-verdi greens and zoysia fairways have already begun to come out of dormancy this week. We encourage valid and honest feedback, not embellishment driven by frustration. Our Starter's / Ranger's are doing their job to ensure an enjoyable round for all our guests. We have never allowed outside coolers, and have no interest in jeopardizing our TN Licenses, which permit us to sell liquor and beer. Additionally, if each group of golfers took a mulligan on every par 3, our guests would struggle to complete a round within 4 hours & 30 minutes. For instance, Hole 3 clearly states, "One shot per golfer."
Lastly, Winter work is wrapping up in preparation for the mowing season. As many loyal customers will tell you, we work hard every year to continually improve our facility. Winter months permit us the opportunity to edge and resand bunkers, conduct tree work, etc.
Golf season is just beginning, and we hope you hit the sticks well no matter where you play!
