Great Course
First time playing this course. It was in great shape. We’ll play again when back in town.!!
4/5
I like the course in general, however the greens were punched and the starter told us they were playing fast that day so hmm. Grass was pretty high in many cuts, but the layout is great, the pace of play is always fine, and the amenities and merchandise continue to improve.
So Slow
This is our favorite course to play around Knoxville, because its always in great shape. But the pace of play was extremely slow. It took us 4 hours to play 14 holes, so we ended up leaving. It was taking 22-25 minutes to play each hole and having to wait at every single shot. Sometimes you just go to know when to pick up your ball and move on. For the price to play there now, they ought to have a ranger out there.
Awesome Course
This is a fun course to play. It’s a beautiful layout next to a river. It was packed the day I played so I won’t say anything against the pace of play it happens. The fairways and greens have been kept up in awesome shape. The greens are like walking on a cushion. It’s not wide open so a straight shot is needed on multiple holes. The greens wasn’t to challenging in breaks they read true. The staff was all professional and very nice. They have a cart that goes around that has snacks and drinks. Cart paths are under construction but that’s not a big deal. This is a beautiful fun course to play. I’d recommend this course to anyone.
Loved the course but they were very busy for a Monday, took 4.5 hours for 18. Not mad about it, it is what it is. Would definitely go back.
Enjoyable round of golf
The course was in excellent condition, if your ball was in the fairway it was really difficult to have a bad lie, the greens were smooth and rolled well, they were a little quicker than I have been used to but I like them like they were. I thought that the staff was polite and helpful. We were the first group out so pace of play was not an issue and we played in around 4 hours. I thought the scenery was absolutely beautiful and a very good value for the price. I was unaware that the damage that was received in North Carolina from the storms had reached East Tennessee as well and from my understanding of some of the damage they received I think they have done a fantastic job getting the golf back into the condition that it is in which in my opinion was excellent. As a new resident to the Knoxville area I will play the course again.
Stay away from Island Pointe
The absolute worst staff and rangers of any course I have ever played. The course is nice but not worth dealing with incompetent staff and extremely rude rangers. They pile up the tee times and do nothing to enforce golf etiquette and rules like not allowing groups behind from hitting into you. Don't complain because they might just kick you off the course if you do.
Fun Course
Played a round here while on vacation. Challenging course, but nothing crazy. Would play here again.
Great layout
Course was in great shape. All bunkers are still gur due to flooding damage from Helene. The snack shack was closed after being told it was open. Not a big deal but you don’t return to club house until 18. Pace of place was awful, almost 5 1/2hrs for the round. Usually one of my favorite courses but pace of play and pin placements made for a disappointment. All pins were within 7-10’ from edge of the greens.
Tee times are scheduled 10 minutes apart. When guests are paired with other guests, they are expected to play as four for the entire round and not split apart. We have a zero-tolerance policy when threats of physical harm are made towards any guest, staff member or person on the property. Our staff de- escalated the situation where you intentionally hit another group golf balls into the water and back towards them. When groups split, it slows play, and while it is unacceptable to hit into other groups intentionally, our staff calmly handled the situation after talking to multiple groups, including those directly behind you. Unfortunately, you were asked to leave due to your behavior. It was unfortunate it progressed as it did, but things happen, we are all human. We suggest coming out during a non-peak time where you can enjoy time on the course with your son.
